Short, sweet novella

I love to listen to these short stories when I know I only have a little while to listen. I enjoy listening to mail order bride stories, and I especially liked this one because it had a baby involved in it. Emma Ashwood's stories are Christian stories, but they aren't preachy, which I like. As usual, Meghan Kelly does an amazing job giving voice to the characters.

Want more...

This is why i do not like short stories. Rewrite this book and give me more. This could have been a series.

great

I like listening to mail order brides books. I've read a lot of books about mail-order brides book. Always catch my attention when I listen to these books about two random people marrying each other. I never knew it was such a thing.

Short and sweet

This story was very cute and sweet. Yes it was very short however it covered every aspect of the story. I would have liked a little more character detail and personality. But I really enjoyed.

My ONLY Complaint Is It Is Too Short-Emma More Now

👤

After being jilted at the altar, Emma (lots of Emma's these days) begins a year-long correspondence with Harry. She laid out all the details including the defamation of her character and he was able to accept and talk to her about everything.

He reported that he was in California, one of the last in the dying breed of gold mine seekers. He told her that he had a mine and sent her money enough to leave the town in which everyone thought she was disgraceful and a tramp. Joining Harry and his kindness.

Something extraordinary happens on her the train journey out west… I must leave it at that or I will most certainly spoil this short book for you.

This is a wonderful little story, just the right length to listen if you have an hour, here or there.

Meghan Kelly does a wonderful narration. Female characters sound like females and male characters sound like men (as far as a narrator can go.) Meghan has another 'Mail Order Bride,' book and I cannot wait to listen to it!

Notes: This is where I usually warn people about different subject matter which may be offensive to some. There is no need for any of that in this book. It is a lovely story.

Emma and the baby

Short but sweet story about how Emma, a mail order bride, ends up with a baby before she meets her intended. Meghan Kelly did a good job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Wonderful!

This was a very good book. You do not have to have given birth to a baby to fall in love with it, as Emma learned so happily.
