Story
Why did Agatha Christie spend her career pretending that she was "just" an ordinary housewife, when clearly she wasn't? Lucy Worsley's biography is not just of a massively, internationally successful writer. It's also the story of a person who, despite the obstacles of class and gender, became an astonishingly successful working woman. With access to rarely seen personal letters and papers, Lucy Worsley's biography is both authoritative and entertaining and makes us realize what an extraordinary pioneer Agatha Christie was—truly a woman who wrote the twentieth century.

After months of interrogations, he was sent to the US military prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, as one of its first prisoners. Like the nearly 800 other men imprisoned at Guantanamo, Adayfi didn’t know why he was imprisoned or for how long. He had never seen a skyscraper and couldn’t imagine what the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center looked like, much less how they were destroyed.

Great Interview
After watching Lucy on PBS present various special TV programs on a variety of historical British topics, I already knew any presentation by her would be an exciting slam dunk. Her thorough knowledge and understanding of any subject she presents, along with her pleasing voice, good humored delivery, and earnest intent is consistent and engaging.
Holly Newson’s excellent interviewing skills and knowledge guides the listener through a wonderful conversation about Ms. Worsley’s book about 24 significant days in the life of Queen Victoria.
