Lucky Draw

This is the second book in the Lucky John Adventures series. John and his best buddy Davy are trying to enjoy relaxation. For some reason danger and trouble always finds John. They now are on another adventure to save the world and play some poker. Jeffery Holz does a great job narrating.

Fun listen!

This is the second book I've read/listened to by Mark Stone. It's an over the top action adventure/misadventure where John Lucky continues to save the day. I snorted, laughed, or rolled my eyes once again. We don't get as much of his side kick Davey, but we get new characters that were just as likable. I can't help being eager to discover how he's going to save the day. a fun listen for me.

Jeffrey Holz is perfect for these audiobooks. I actually listened to this as a cartoon and completely enjoyed it as such. That's how it rolled in my head. The different characters voices were perfect,..male and female, adult and child. Excellence!

Book 2 - standalone

This is book 2 in Stone's Lucky John Adventures series and can be read / listened to as a standalone. This is one of the few books that I actually think is better with a single narrator and I love what a great job Holtz does with this read. His vocals just amaze and thrill. While there are some repeat characters found, we're provided with enough history that there is no worry about missing anything. I love the dynamic our main character John has with Charlotte as the love interest as well as his banter and friendship with BFF Davey who plays a bigger role in this mystery/adventure. I love the action and puns. Overall, this is a super fun listen, and I can't wait to see what adventure Lucky will luck his way out of next!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

Highly Recommend! Very Entertaining!

Another outstanding story from this author! I really just love John Lucky and his amazing luck in life…or bad luck depends on how you look at it. In here we meet new interesting individuals as well as see some old ones. As always Davey is my favorite since he is all about himself…this time he wants a boat(bought by John of course) and cone up with a nickname John hates but he uses anyway. John embarks downs a different path this time and we meet a lot if new characters (I think my list is very long). This still has all the action, drama and suspense I expect and that keeps my attention focused on the story.

Overall this is a wonderful second book in the series. I listened to this on audio. Jeffrey Holz is just the best at all these character voices. I especially think he nailed Davey as I can always pick him out. I eagerly look forward to the next as I listened to the epilogue and see where the next one is headed.

Lucky Draw

Okay, this was another action-pack adventure, or is it? to be honest the first book was way better. don't get me wrong this one was good too. just, in my opinion, I like the 1st book lol. LJ has the world's best friend ever. he make the book even better so I was a bit sad that he wasn't in this book that much. but trust me you guys will still love this book. Holz did an amazing job narrating the book too. keep up the good work. 👍 👌 👏 😉

Entertaining Series!

This is the second book in the Lucky John Adventures Series. I like this series. This is another great addition to the series. John Lucky is an entertaining character. The storyline is filled with humor, intrigue, mystery, action, and twists and turns. The supporting characters are intriguing. Great narration from Jeffrey Holz. Looking forward to listening to Luck Rascal, the next Lucky John adventure! #PFPAudio

Great narration, different direction from book 1

I listened to the audiobook and really liked the narration. I would give Jeffery Holz 4.5 stars, and I'm sure that I liked the story more because I listened to it. He was easy to listen to and did well with the character voices.

Lucky Draw felt very disjointed from the first book of the series. The characters that were prominent in Lucky Break weren’t in Lucky Draw. This installment had an entirely new “gang” that made it feel as if it wasn't a continuation of the same series. I wondered if I would have liked it better if it were listened to as a stand alone, but then I would have missed the history leading up to this story. There are many references to events that happened in Lucky Break, but the descriptions are very brief and they frequently mention characters that don’t appear in this book. I found it a little disappointing for continuing series and would recommend either trying it as a stand alone, or for someone who likes James Bond-ish stuff where it’s the same main character but otherwise unrelated stories.

I received a copy of the audiobook at my request (and read it in KU), and the opinions here are my own.
