The mirror showed a girl her true love. That's what everyone said. Girls rushed to check their reflection, hoping to see if the stories were true.
Not Doris. She had no interest in finding her true love. How was Doris supposed to trust in love? Derrick said he loved her, but when she did not return his feelings, his so-called love turned into an obsession that took the lives of her mother and step-father.
Mark Black Feather was pleasantly surprised to see the magic mirror reveal the face of his true love. He never expected she’d be unhappy to see him, or that her life would be in danger from a madman.
Can true love grow surrounded by tragedy and danger, or will one man’s obsession end their love before it can truly begin?
Betty's note: Each book in the Love's Magic series is a stand-alone romance novel, and can be enjoyed even if you haven't listened to other books in the series.

I enjoyed this story. I haven’t heard the other stories in this series, and I am sure that they would have built some background that I missed.
Overall, it was a tale about a sweet family dynamic that anyone would want to be a part of. I enjoyed the relationships and especially the Moonwalking character. (I chuckled every time I heard her name.)
Cons:
Spoiler Alert!
It definitely had all of the hallmarks of a classic fairytale, including the insta-love. I think it would have been neat if they fell in love more slowly, through meaningful activities. Show me, don’t tell me that the H and h are in love. Furtive glances and precious time, not simply agreeing the mirror is probably right, kissing, and saying we’ll get married.
The narrator did a great job! The only characterization I questioned was Glenda’s voice, and the narrator may have been coached in that direction.
