Fairy Tale

This story begins with a magic mirror, but instead of finding superficial beauty, it finds the true love of the one to gaze at its depths. As Doris stares into the mirror, she quickly moves away to then nearly stumbles into her death. Mark Blackfeather saves her life, and he might also be her future... if he can keep Doris alive.
I enjoyed this story. I haven’t heard the other stories in this series, and I am sure that they would have built some background that I missed.
Overall, it was a tale about a sweet family dynamic that anyone would want to be a part of. I enjoyed the relationships and especially the Moonwalking character. (I chuckled every time I heard her name.)
Cons:
Spoiler Alert!
It definitely had all of the hallmarks of a classic fairytale, including the insta-love. I think it would have been neat if they fell in love more slowly, through meaningful activities. Show me, don’t tell me that the H and h are in love. Furtive glances and precious time, not simply agreeing the mirror is probably right, kissing, and saying we’ll get married.
The narrator did a great job! The only characterization I questioned was Glenda’s voice, and the narrator may have been coached in that direction.

Cute story of what a girl will go to, trying to find her true love. Good plot, and enjoyed the narration by Carolyn. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Sweet

Love’s Obsession is a sweet and clean romance. It has interesting plot twists and characters that keep the story moving.

it all began with a magic mirror

Interesting take on finding your true love. Romance, family, suspense, and a few secrets as well as surprises are revealed. I liked how the author switched between characters.

The bare basics are okay

I think the skeleton of the story are actually okay I just a huge issue with the way it is written. Not only do I think the series of events are more like enumerating the event and not fully played out, the choice of words are very singular throughout like “...said (name of true character”, “...asked (name of the character”, “...agreed (name of character) etc. it’s the exact same sentence you just have to change the name of the character. It would have been okay but it grates on your nerves after awhile and it’s consistent although the 5+ hours of this audiobook!
