Acerca de esta escucha

The Bhagavad Gita is a gem so precious in India's spiritual treasury that many regard it not as a volume of sacred verse, but as a living manifestation of the Divine. In the summer of 1974, inside a balmy Boulder, Colorado, warehouse that served as a main hall of a fledgling Naropa Institute, some say a minor miracle occured: The reawakening of the Gita's living presence, as it unfolded in a series of wisdom teachings led by Ram Dass. With Love, Service, Devotion, and the Ultimate Surrender, you are invited to experience these legendary gatherings.

I loved it, every bit. This is my first lengthy Ram Dass listening and it did not disappoint. If you like Eckhart Tolle, Alan Watts, and/or Michael Singer then you'll love what Ram Dass has to say. Can't recommend him enough.

If you're thinking about it, get it

I have been around the block so much. Nothing fills the gap as well as Ram Dass does. Always. Consistently.
This audio book is another masterpiece of inspiration, guidance, coaching and love.
Wow. This is one you just keep on repeating.

Wow.

Both Baghavad Gita and Ram Dass interpretation of it are amazing. For the ones following Ram Dass 's talk, this is probably one of most comprehensive sources.

a jewel

And geez that guy who speaks between section. Wow. Talk about pretentious. But I learned a lot so 4+ baby.

It's a speech so hard to give a 5 on performance

These lectures were a big turning point for me. He synthesizes so many religious viewpoints that it’s like taking a master class in world religions and even ties a lot of it to modern psychology. I loved his very personal stories, his struggles, his ability to explain very difficult topics, and his love.

If you are expecting a page by page breakdown of the Bhagavad Gita, this is not it. This is a discussion of how to live by the Bhagavad Gita. It assumes that you’ve read the Gita already.

Beautiful, life changing lectures

If you could sum up Love, Service, Devotion, and the Ultimate Surrender in three words, what would they be?

perfectly right on!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Love, Service, Devotion, and the Ultimate Surrender?

Ram Dass is a masterful storyteller! Honest, authentic, beautiful!

Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first Ram Dass book I have listened to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Lots of laughing.

Phenomenal work of art!

Although Ram Das doesn’t actually review the Gita in any “play by play” form (as he himself notes) these talks during a retreat are his life’s anecdotes that he feels express what the Gita is trying to teach through its “allegorical elegy”.

A wonderful tongue and cheek poke at reality, as much of his life seemed to be.
