Excellent, excellent, excellent

Excellent, excellent, excellent. what a seriously fun and entertaining book. I can't believe I had never found this before. Orson Scott Card is a genius. I love someone that can tell an incredibly engaging story without having to stoop to foul language or base imagery. that is the mark of a true Craftsman and a good author.

Who needs super powers?

A boy has a seemingly useless, mysterious talent, identified as a micro-power rather than a super power, that turns out to be more useful than he thought. I love the texture of Card's writing and Rudnicki's reading style. neither disappoint. This is a fine stand alone story. I only subtracted a star because the denouement lasted several chapters too long after the climax. The end got overdone. Overall though, I really enjoyed this book.

Loved every minute of this book. The characters are just amazing and lovable. I thought I'd dislike that the characters were teenagers but it didn't disappoint.

Good story well told

Orson Scott Card is a gamble. Some of his books are classics (Enders Game) and some are terrible. This book definitely fits into the former category. He treats the themes of early adolescence with candor and humor; he is kind to his characters even when portraying their flaws. They are engaging, funny, relatable and even admirable. The “micro-power”theme which provides some laughs at the outset turns out to be a celebration of the little things that make each human being wonderful without having to be extraordinary. A very enjoyable respite from the cynicism of our current era.

I read and/or listen again and again.

I have re-read my first edition printed copy at least five times. Then my wife bought the audible version because she thought that it was something that I would like. I have just finished my second time listening, and will be back again. A masterful story!

cool engaging story

this book once again shows what a good writer Orson Scott Card is. It features very intelligent young people that you can actually care about.

Great Characters

Wow! Really different approach to neurodivergent characters. I loved the unexpected twists and also that there are not only adults in the story - but they are important and trustworthy.

Enjoyable and deeply moving

Card does not seem to write interesting but meaningless stories. This is one really fine example.

Enjoyable read. more about micropowers please

This was a fun journey into the idea, not of superpowers, but of micropowers. Playful and suspenseful.
