About this listen

Lord Langley is back in town!

Lord Langley and Minerva, Lady Standon, began their faux engagement with three simple rules set down by the baron's all-too-proper (and utterly unlikely) bride-to-be.

  1. No more kissing. The intoxicating kiss Langley stole from her lips still has Minerva aflutter.
  2. She will not share his bed. (For if his kiss is that tempting, Minerva doesn't dare imagine what a night in Langley's embrace will do to her already addled senses.)
  3. No scandals during their engagement. With the infamous Langley back in Town, there is no lack of trouble he can bring to Minerva's unblemished reputation.

Oh, the wily Lord Langley will keep his word - but that doesn't mean he won't use every rakish trick he knows to get Minerva to break her own proper rules, especially once he realizes that this convenient arrangement has led him to the only woman he's ever loved....

Don't miss this one!

So many fun characters. The storyline is not The Usual. Steamy but not raunchy. Characters from other books in the series are referred to, making the world of this story interconnected. And, of course, Susan Duerdon's narration is the icing on the cake. She pulls the whose confection together with her clear, ladylike diction. I'm listening for the second, but not the last, time.

Confusing at the beginning..........

.........but picks up at the end. Still not the usual organization. I would read it again in six years when I forgot that it wasn’t one of Boyles best‼️ ps: Duerden was the narrator and you can’t do wrong there!

Very Good

Fun plot, well developed characters & great romance. I've read the entire series and this was one of the best. The only complaint is I needed a family tree to keep all the multiple generations straight. It certainly got confusing with these glaring ages differences. Also, it wasa bit distracting that all the nannies sounded alike. Considering they hail from very different countries, Italy, France, Germany and the Netherlands they shouldn't have all sounded Spanish. lol!

One of the best books ever!

This book is amazing! This series is overall great. Although there are 2 5 stars and 2 4 stars and even 1 2 stars and even some 3 stars they fact that 2 of them (Lord Langley and Emmaline) are such 5 stars that I'd give them 10 stars, if possible.
This book is laugh out loud funny, cute, sweet, interesting, romantic and just exciting enough to move it along.
Susan Duerden is an absolute A list narrator. Her comedic timing is spot on! Her storytelling is compelling and her voice is so interesting I love finding performances with her at the helm.

Good Storyline

I listen to all of this series and was entertained by all. if you are looking for a series and like listening to regency romances, Boyle romances are a good choice. Some stories are better than others, of course, but mostly all good. Narrator Duerden is an excellent narrator for Boyle's stories.

Couldn’t keep my attention

Did not like this book. Too slow and couldn’t wait to get through it. Don’t know if I’ll try this author again.
