About this listen

Correspondence has fallen into our hands that we were not intended to see. Foulgrin, a high-ranking demon, instructs his subordinate how to deceive and destroy Jordan Fletcher and his family. It's like placing a bugging device in hell's war room, where we overhear our enemies assessing our weaknesses and strategizing attack. To win the battle, we must know our God, know ourselves, and know our enemy. Lord Foulgrin's Letters is written to help us become better acquainted with each.

Excellent!

Finished it in days! an excellent book. Randy Alcorn did an exception building off of CS Lewis' Screwtape letters, referencing that classic several times.

Entertaining, informative, necessary, vital

What does Frank Muller bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

The narration is excellent and done in a fashion similar to other works of fiction such as detective/mystery novels.

Any additional comments?

An enjoyable story which teaches Christians about the true nature of this reality. It is helpful to be able to keep in mind the spiritual war that is underway between demonic beings and Christians. It is very important for Christians to know about such things to be able to pray appropriately.

Wow!

Quite the story! An amazing preview of the devil’s deeds and deceptions, with great insight on how to avoid demonic clutches. Frank Muller does an incredibly awesome job at narrating this book! I highly recommend this book.

C.S. Lewis would be proud!

What made the experience of listening to Lord Foulgrin's Letters the most enjoyable?

Listening to Lord Foulgrin, himself!

What other book might you compare Lord Foulgrin's Letters to and why?

The Screwtape Letters, of course. However, Alcorn's story is truly original and a masterpiece in its own right. A great companion to Screwtape.

What does Frank Muller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He makes the character really come alive through his wonderful voice-acting. He adds a level of creepiness that is dead-on.

Who was the most memorable character of Lord Foulgrin's Letters and why?

Lord Foulgrin ! Colorful, mean, nasty, haughty, proud, supercilious and evil. A great villain!

Any additional comments?

This is a wonderful story in the tradition of "The Screwtape Letters" (the author even gives a clever literary nod to Lewis in the story!). Not only is this a great story, but the writing is excellent. Alcorn also seamlessly weaves in contemporary Christian themes without being preachy, far from it! Frank Muller does a fine job with all character voices, but his Lord Foulgrin is absolutely superb.

LOVED IT

I’ve always loved this book. I’ve read it a bunch of times. This is the first time I’ve ever used audible and it was such a great experience. Now on to the 2nd book of this series. Ishbanes Conspiracy. Randy C Acorn is an amazing author.

Alcorn at his best.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Gives you a possible view from the other side of the battle. Shows what true weakness is.

What did you like best about this story?

The opportunity to enjoy the truth of the futility of the enemy and his position.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but obviously to long for that.

Any additional comments?

Listened to this with my wife who tries to avoid christian fiction. She really enjoyes it and it gave us great fodder for conversation.

Good listen

This was a good book to listen. While many may say that it is too fictitious, the tactics that the devil uses are pretty much similar. It's good to know how the evil one is working and be able to discern good from evil. Loved the narration and the sound effects.

This one one stay with you...

I listened to this at a time when I'm struggling with my faith and what I believe. So much to unpack here...at the very least this performance is entertaining. You're hooked from the very start. At the very most, this book is life-altering. Maybe even a life-saver...
