Publisher's summary

You shared a secret with the wrong person.

Janey Markham is thrilled to be moving with her family to Buckingham Crescent, the smartest address in a desirable suburban town.

Worried she’ll be excluded by the glossy local mothers, Janey is thrilled when she meets Tanya, the kind of woman she has always looked up to. Tanya takes Janey under her wing and her teenage daughter, Angel, is amazing with Janey’s little boy. As Janey and Tanya grow closer, Janey feels she can finally leave her troubled past behind.

But then everything changes....

In a weak moment over a bottle of wine, Janey finds herself telling Tanya her most shocking secret. Why wouldn’t she trust her new friend?

The following day, Janey sees Angel, with a man old enough to be her father, pushing someone into a car. The next day a body is found, and police appeal for witnesses - and share a picture of the same car....

When Janey tells Tanya she is going to the police, Tanya turns threatening. She’ll stop at nothing to defend Angel, even if her daughter is guilty. If Janey says anything, Tanya will make sure that her dark secret gets out. Janey faces an impossible choice. Stay quiet about what she saw that terrible day or speak up and destroy the family she has worked so hard to protect....

From million-copy best seller K.L. Slater comes this twisty and absolutely gripping roller-coaster ride of a listen. Fans of The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl will be totally hooked on Little Whispers.

It was pretty good

It felt like it took forver to get to her "secret" and, when it did, it didn't really relate to the rest of the story. Either one of the plotlines could have been a story in itself

Ok book

start off slow and a bit boring. The middle is ok. The end was surprising and very good, if you can bare to keep reading.

Wow! Great listen!!

The story takes some time to develop. But it is worth sticking around to take the full ride. Its like you're slowly click clicking up to the top of a roller coaster for what feels an unbearably long time. There are so many clues and hints that things aren't quite right in the world the author paints. But how does it all connect? What is really going on here? The dizzying and satisfying ride down the roller coaster once it launches , when things start snapping into place bit by tiny bit to put all the pieces into place, is so worth it!!! A must read!!!

Slow read

I couldn't wait for the ending, the entire book touched at these big secrets and dragged out the story. The main character was hard to believe at times. Can someone be that naive?

Kept you guessing, but conclusion was wacky

I really enjoyed the first three fourths of this book. The women’s relationships were interesting as they developed and it kept you guessing about Janie’s big secret, which characters were good and what the husband was up to. However, toward the end, the plot become ridiculous and unbelievable and I completely lost interest.

My fave!

This was definitely my favorite book by KL Slater, so far. I have already read about 10 of her books. I am really confused by some of the other reviews …like are they reading a different book than I am? This was an amazing story and an excellent plot. The way in which she describes all the different characters is phenomenal! Each description is very precise and believable. I could literally picture each character, hear their voices, smell their perfume… etc.

I really liked this story and I was truly sad when it came to an end.

Really unputdownable book

The book holds an attention till the end as onlyat the last chapters you may find cue.
The plot would have been great wiyh the highestmatk if there has been less violence.

Is there an error?

Last chapter states Susan was taken at age 14. Bracelet being returned was her 18th birthday gift from parents??
