Different Perspective

Things are never as straightforward as people would have you believe. A good example is the constitutional compromise that slaves be counted as 3/5 of a person. It turns out that Slave owners wanted to count slaves fully and the northern states wanted them counted as 0/5. It’s obvious as to why once the author points it out. The book is full of these types of examples. While a left leaning person would benefit from reading this book, I suspect it would drive them crazy. Conservatives would love this book.

Well-researched book. I enjoyed the narration and learned a great deal. Highly recommend this book.

Supporting data to older claims

Professor Reilly is not covering new ground here. These are common countervailing arguments to old left of center assertions. What Professor Reilly does do is collect the new pertinent data that seldom ever gets equal representation by the wider academic society or the media & drags it into the light much to the consternation of those who wish to sell you their narrative.
