Acerca de esta escucha

Resigned to living a sexless, loveless life, Doctor Nathan Tierney knows something is missing. In a rash decision, he leaves his life-consuming job at Mass General Hospital, Boston, to be the small-town doctor in Belfast, Maine. With the job comes a house, and with the house comes a handyman-painter.

Trent Jamieson, a nomadic artist, and his dog Bentley, are offered free accommodation for the few weeks he fixes up the hospital-owned house. Nathan is transfixed by this free-spirited, undeniably gorgeous man.

Confused but amazed to feel any kind of attraction - much less to a man - Nathan convinces himself to put aside any preconceived ideas, and allows himself to just feel. As their attraction for each other grows, one man learns to live, the other learns to love. But just who is teaching who?

Let me tell you this author is always a go to for me. I know some might say it had a lot of sea but I didn’t think so. It was two males exploring each other and falling in love. No more love making than in an MC male and female romance. I want you to know this wasn’t a quick romp book. It spans over a few years. I was happy with the side characters and with the joy of them finding happiness. I plan to listen to this over again because it was just that good. Great Job!

Steamy romance with a plot!

NR doesn't disappoint. My love of Red Dirt Hearts and Pieces of Series is well known to her. I love the majority of her narrators. NJ Russo is no exception. He along with with Glen Lloyd are two of my very favorites! They both know how to take NRW books to a higher level! Nathan a Doctor who makes a move because his life is empty, he thinks he'sdoomed to a loveless life. He thinks a better schedule is what he needs. He meets Trent, a seemingly open guy who disarms him, but is hiding years of hurt. It's simple and honest. I think it's the same for so many more people than we realize. I love your books NRW! Can't wait for the next one!

Wonderful Story of 2 Lost Boys

As a southern boy, I can so relate to this story. It's how I can picture life being for me. It also helped explain my own needs and wants in a relationship An excellent book.

Spot On

The story is sweet, loved all of the characters, a little too much on the graphic sex, sometimes this distracts from the real meaning of the book !
I would definitely recommend !

Inspiring story

Single POV, gay awakening romance that was very sweet. I could have done without the smattering of miscommunication throughout...but that's just a personal preference. Ultimately, it was a lovely romance story to read and even better to listen to.

Cute and sweet - and great on audio.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but it’s all sex and no good story line. These two men act like they are sixteen instead of an artist and doctor. I feel like the book was written for the sex shock and even that was really immature. The doc is 27for gosh sakes but acts like he’s 16. No communication between the two. Just ok.

All sex very little story

I enjoy N.R. Walker books most of the time, almost all of them have Nick J. Russo at the helm as the performer. "Learning to Feel" is definitely at the top....great story overall and the sexy scenes were 🔥 AF! The scenes with Bentley injured at the hospital and when Trent confesses why he left had me in tears...I also found the proposal scene at the end lovely.

4 stars - I would listen again.

All the feels!

I gave it to chapter five and that was it. I couldn't like the characters, not even a little bit...maybe the dog. It's unfortunate that I hold "The Weight of it All" as the NR Walker standard. This didn't come close. Others liked it and that is always a good thing.

Just couldn't get into it.

I am surprised that no one mentioned that the first hookup scene was slightly NC. If this guy, Trent, is supposed to be a nice patient southern guy… He is certainly not. He took advantage of Nathan.

DNF

Regarding the characters, Mr Russo was the perfect choice for the narration.

Learning to Listen when someone is uncomfortable

It missed the mark a little, just glossing over a lot of really emotionally charged events, and a character that "isn't in touch with his emotionals" explaining himself and his reactions really well... it probably would have helped a lot to have the other character's perspective a couple times. A little bit of a misleading description, this character is nowhere on the ace spectrum - regardless of what the description or beginning chapters try to tell you. It was a little hard to buy the idea that he'd never met an attractive man before- it kinda read like the author was attempting to write an ace spectrum character when they began the book, but gave up the premise right away.

Not a bad - feel good story
