About this listen

Great story, average reader, written prob. better

I suppose that I would have enjoyed this book more if I had read it by myself as a written book. The reader is not bad, but she reads in a monotonous, scholarly rythm and lacks expressive power. It's a pity as the book tells the important story of a mixed french-moroccan family caught up in the events leading up to the moroccan independance. It is very well written with engaging characters and descriptions that make you feel their hopes and the challenges they face. Still worth listening to.
