Bogdan Teodorescu, écrivain roumain né en 1963, passe un doctorat en communication après des études d'ingénieur et devient journaliste dès 1990, après la chute du régime communiste. Il est professeur de marketing politique et électoral à l'École Nationale d'Études politiques (l'ENA roumaine) depuis 1997. Il est l'auteur d'une dizaine d'ouvrages, dont le roman Spada paru fin 2016, et finaliste du prix du livre européen 2017.
Cloîtré dans une serre au verre sali par la pluie, d'où il dirige la Roumanie d'une main de fer depuis plus d'un demi-siècle, le dictateur s'apprête à lancer son grand défi à l'Histoire. Pour échapper à l'érosion du temps, il a fait construire en secret un portail entre présent et passé, capable de ramener les morts. Et demain, il ramènera le plus illustre d'entre eux : un grand homme, un grand guerrier, un grand patriote... Michel Le Brave. Mais quand le leader d'une époque où empaler ses adversaires était pratique courante débarque dans notre réalité, les réactions en chaîne sont pour le moins imprévisibles...
Dans ce roman énigmatique, Bogdan Teodorescu nous confronte à un passé qui vient rappeler que l'homme reste un loup pour l'homme.
