About this listen

In the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains lies a small town with a big heart - and a chance to begin again....

When Hannah Montgomery buys a lavender farm in Blue Hollow Falls with three friends, she's creating a life she never imagined - one she hopes will honor the memory of the sweet young son she tragically lost years ago. Standing on the porch of the sprawling farmhouse, looking out on row upon row of those lush purple plumes, Hannah is ready to embrace this fresh, new start....

Then she meets Wilson McCall. The stonemason hired to fix their crumbling chimneys and leaky roof is quieter than most folks in the Falls. Hannah's not surprised to learn the widower struggles with his own grief. Who could blame her if she finds joy in making Will laugh again, or if she feels a poignant kinship when she sees him with his teenage son? But her deepening friendship with Will reminds Hannah that there's a part of her that still needs to heal - awakening a tender yearning to have a life that isn't just good enough, but lived fully - even if that means taking risks once more....

This series keeps getting better!

I recently picked up the first Blue Hollow Series audiobook, narrated by Amanda Ronconi, because it was listed under the "More from the same narrator" section. I'm so glad I did! As soon as I finished Blue Hollow Falls, I grabbed Bluestone and Vine so I could find out if the Viking-esque sidekick Seth Brogan gets his own HEA, (Spoiler alert: He did!). So of course I wanted to grab Book 3, Lavender Blue, when I learned it was about the brooding single father/widower Wilson McCall! A whole new group of characters arrives on the scene in this third book, and I'm hoping that means we readers/listeners will get to spend more time in the Blue Hollow Falls!

Another lovely sweet romance with realistic characters dealing with some pretty heavy stuff in remarkably realistic and healthy ways, but with enough quirk and humor and realness to the community and supporting characters to make the book an easy and enjoyable listen. I do think this 3rd book in this series went to another level - it could have felt cliche and formulaic, but Ms. Kauffman added some extra elements that made it feel true to life.

Ms. Kauffman knows how to pen a love story that makes a listener's heart happy, and Ms. Ronconi knows how to narrate a love story - ANY story, in fact - to make a listener's ears happy. She does a great job of distinguishing characters - good male and female and various aged voices!

Sex - some open door
Language - now and then
Violence - none except for references to past experiences
Substance abuse - none except for references to past experiences
Social drinking - some

Looking forward to the next audiobook in the series!

Excellent Writing & Amanda Ronconi Story Telling!

This book like Donna Kaufman’s other books was absolutely excellent. Additionally Amanda Ronconi is a superb story teller transporting the reader into and through the well written story by Donna Kaufman. I wish this team , of writer and narrator would do more books as they deliver an enjoyable experience to listen to.

Book 3 disappoints

Books 1 and 2 of this Trilogy were both excellent stories that kept my interest throughout. In fact, I wrote 5 star reviews for both. In Book 3, Donna Kauffman repeats the depressing tragedies suffered by both the main characters to the point of leaving me sad and depressed. The book left a black cloud hovering over me.

Great series. I truly hope that Audible will complete this series with the addition of "The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls ", "Lavender & Mistletoe ", and "Under a Firefly Moon".

continues to improve

I delayed listening to this one bcos of the reviews I read about crying jags etc. But maybe that's just for people who either haven't experienced significant loss in their lives, or, haven't processed it. I actually found it quite valuable and reasonably wise. Impressive for a work of fiction. Of course, the rose coloured glasses/Hallmark little community of Blue Hollow Falls continues, along with the charming characters, but that's enjoyable.
I don't think it's fantastic but worth a listen (maybe even 2, but I don't think more)
