About this listen

Willa Barton has established herself as a successful author and screenwriter, residing in New York City, a stark contrast from her childhood upbringing in the small island community of Laurel Cove, Maine. Twenty years have passed since Willa’s best friend, Brynn, kissed her, which resulted in Willa accidentally causing permanent injury to Brynn.

After being shamed out of town for destroying the future of Laurel Cove’s star athlete, Willa kept her distance; that is, until she receives a call that her father has passed away.

Willa’s plan is simple - she is only going back long enough to tie up loose ends for her father’s estate, sell his house, and attend his funeral. What she doesn’t account for are the past grudges that still exist, a love that was never completely lost, and prospects of friendship.

Can Willa right past wrongs to fulfill a promise from the grave, so her father can be laid to rest?

Good Story

I really enjoyed the story. Dramatic, plot twist, and humors. Amie worked to get the different characters distinguishable. Thanks!

Good Story

This book had potential as far as the story goes. I liked it from the start and really was interested in finding out what really happened that night. I am on chapter 11 and I am unable to continue. The narration just is not where it needs to be to suit the events in this book. I could never be narrator, I am certain it is very hard work, so my hats off to all if them but the tone and demeanor were just not right for this story. I would have for sure finished this book with a more seasoned narrator, such as Abby Craden and several others. I hope this does not deter anyone from getting this book.

Potential Spoiler( doesn't give specifics)

Great story. I only have 1 issue and thats the way the shocking truth of 20 years of hurt and lies being unearthed and resolved and forgiven so easily. It doesn't take for from the overall story enough to warrant less stars as it is still a really good story. it jus something that didn't sit quiet right with me.

“Laurel Cove” by Sarah Turtle

This is a wonderful love story with lovely characters. Willa and Brynn work through so much tragedy to get to where they need to be which is with each other. The story by Sarah Turtle is angsty, sweet and romantic with a few “Oh no!” moments thrown in as well. The narration by Amie Lyn Hornick was great!

Excellent!

I loved Laurel Cove. I had already read the book, but this did not make the audio edition any less enjoyable. Great story. Amie Lyn Hornick does an excellent job with the narration.

A cute story

Good for a vacation, I liked the characters, like the setting, was written well for a debut book, and good luck to Sarah Turtle on her quest of ring an author.
Narration was not the best, Amy Lyn Horlick way of narrating is a little annoying, her voice sounds like she is constantly asking a question towards the end of the sentence and punctuation is not her strong side, as she doesn’t really uses it correctly.

I can't believe what I just listened to

I'm a huge fan of lesbian fiction and this is one of the worst books I have ever heard. I can't believe that all of this verbal and physical abuse caused from this man to these women was excused because of his addiction. It literally goes into graphic detail of a brutal assault on two women, one of whom is wheelchair bound, to them making excuses for his actions and comforting him.
