Publisher's summary

One knife to take a life. One breath to honor Death.

Dustin Graves can’t get a break. Murdering an Old One was only the beginning. Enraged, the Eldest have answered with searing rains of ivory fire from the stars, threatening Valero and the world itself. The madness must be stopped.

Ancient gods of prophecy, death, and darkness themselves answer the call for battle. But the secret to saving the world lies closer to Dustin's heart than he knows: a ritual sacrifice, meant to end the suffering. After all...what’s one life against the fate of billions?

If you like snarky heroes, snappy dialogue, and a bit of grit and gore, you'll love the sixth book in Nazri Noor's series of urban-fantasy novels. Explore the Darkling Mage universe and discover Last Rites today.

Excellent as always

continuing in the adventures of Dustin, the boneyard and everyone else. certainly happy he's finding himself in multiple ways and eager to see what that little secret is going to get Dustin into next.

Such a great book!

Awww I was really hoping Dust would find love and I'm so happy! I love the Boneyard family and I love the Darkling Mage series so much! Last Rites was more of an emotional roller-coaster for me but I'm excited to find out what happens next!
I'm so happy this book is finally on audible!! Luke Daniels is fabulous!

Best book yet

I'm a huge fan of Nazri Noor and paranormal fantasy. The Darkling Mage is a top tier series. the next part is *slightly* spoilery so beware but not a lot of people reviewed the relationship dynamics.
I'm Also a huge fan of MM (male/male) romance, which this is (eventually). This series up until now hasn't had any romance and it's been Amazing. But I'm a hopeless romantic at heart so I love that we're able to follow a relationship from meet, to friends, to 'something' more. Most books don't have such a slow burn progression and I have to say I really enjoy it because it feels so real. Anyone who like paranormal fantasy who wants to give m/m romance a shot should keep reading this series.

Superbly done

I have read this series so many times start to finish. Absolutely love everything about it. The characters are very well fleshed out and the story is top shelf. Getting Luke Daniels to continue the audible series is just the icing on the cake. He’s absolutely brilliant and really brings the characters to life.

Come for the Story, Stay for the bloopers ;0D

Luke Daniel's is always amazing and the story was great but not my favorite of the series. When you make it to the end I hope you laugh as hard as I did listening to the bloopers made during recording. Priceless!

Excellent story if with a few oddities.

I have been a hug fan of Darkling Mage for several years now and seeing this next book pop up in the shop made me very happy. As with each of the other books (that I have read) this story is top notch if with a concept that I feel kinda came out of the blue. Dustin being gay, or bi was something I didn't see coming. Don't get me wrong as a bisexual myself I found it a plesent surprise to have that kind of representation from a character I'm a huge fan of but... The dude NEVER set off my gay-dar. I was 100% expecting him to be hetero. This is the only piece of the story that I feel doesn't fit organically. To me it felt... I guess you could call it forced. As a bisexual I appetiate the concept, but as an author I'm not so much a fan of it. Now, this isn't going to stop me from finishing the series by any means, but I hope it can be more organically worked in into later books.

Dustin and the nocturnal crew are back!

Dustin is the lazy unsung hero of sleeping in, not taking showers, complaining, and being the clutch member of his paranormal family. In this story Dustin is back fighting again with eldritch horrors ,deities, and himself. The story arc in this book was much needed and does really open up how wonderful the writing is. Enjoy the book and welcome to the Arcane Underground!
