Una profunda historia sobre la resistencia, la sororidad y el derecho a voto ambientada en una versión alternativa de la Nueva Inglaterra del siglo XIX.
En 1893 ya no hay brujas. En el pasado sí que las había, en esa época oscura e inhóspita antes de que empezasen a encenderse las hogueras. Ahora, la brujería es poco más que hechizos de amas de casa y canciones infantiles. Si la mujer moderna quiere algo de poder, las urnas son el único lugar donde puede llegar a conseguirlo.
Pero James Juniper, Agnes Amaranth y Beatrice Belladonna, las hermanas Eastwood, se unen a las sufragistas de Nueva Salem y empiezan a buscar las palabras y los componentes olvidadas capaces de convertir la revolución de las mujeres en la revolución de las brujas. Las hermanas se verán acechadas por sombras y todo tipo de males, perseguidas por fuerzas que no tienen intención de permitir que las brujan voten, o que vivan siquiera, y tendrán que indagar en magia antigua, forjar nuevas alianzas y solucionar los problemas entre ellas si quieren sobrevivir.

La historia es interesante. Me tenía lo suficientemente interesada como para querer saber qué pasaba después.
Sin embargo, se me hizo un poco larga, a veces se detallan an demasiadas cosas y hacía que la trama fuera lenta. Todo el tiempo estuve esperando que pasara ALGO, pero todo lo que pasaba era esperable y no tan grandioso como se daba a entender.
No es que las cosas que pasaban no fueses importantes en la trama, pero desde un inicio parecía como que iba a haber un gran giro en la trama, lo cual no fue así, la historia se desarrolló como, para mí, era esperable.
Igualmente lo recomiendo, es una lectura ligera y entretiene.
