Confusion

To me, the story rambled a lot. I found it hard to connect with the charachter and her struggle.for self realization.

The character

Jumped about too much for me and personality of some of foreign character didn't seem genuine.

Performance ruined a great story

I have always loved this book and looked forward to hearing it performed. However the narrator was terrible: over-enunciated everything and stripped the humor right out of a great story. I cringed every time she clipped out ‘Terramoto.’ Made me hate the character by the end. Read the book instead.

Good story but I don't like the ending.

I wanted a new beginning for Joan. It seems clear she'll repeat old patterns with a new person. Ending let me down.

A Feminist Romp

Margaret Atwood is most famous for her dystopias, but this lighthearted novel also gets at serious issues about femininity, bohemianism and the creative process. A fun listen, well read!

Another masterpiece by the master

Wonderful book that started in an interesting way and then evolved into a phenomenal story. Margaret Atwood has an imagination that is beautifully unique and this story displays it perfectly.

Setting

I wasn’t enamored with the main character or with the supporting characters. The mother was awful!

What a waste of time!

I loved The Handmaids Tale and The Testaments so expected this to be a great read. I’m sorry but it was AWFUL’
