About this listen

In the first book of The Duke's Daughters series, the Duke of Marymount's eldest daughter, Lady Eleanor, knows the burden of restoring her family's good name is hers to bear. So a good but loveless match is made, and her fate is set. But then Eleanor meets her intended's rakish younger brother. With his tawny hair, green eyes, and scandalous behavior, Lord Alexander Raybourn makes her want to be very bad indeed. And since his very honorable sibling is too busy saving the world to woo Eleanor, Alexander is tasked with finding out her likes and dislikes on his behalf. But the more time Alexander spends with the secretly naughty Eleanor, the more he knows that what they both want and need is each other.

Such fun!

Alex and Eleanor's story is delightful, sexy, and funny. I'm currently downloading the rest of the series to finish up the stories of the rest of the Duke's Daughters. My only mild quibble is with Jilly Bond's narration. She is very talented when bringing the daughters to life, but her "deep-voiced male" is a little jarring. But this is a minor, minor point. Overall an excellent book and a smooth performance.

Great book!

I love this book it makes me want to read the rest of the series. The only thing I didn't like was the narrator. The narrator was too whiny sounding for me.

great book, bad narrative

I loved the story and the characters. They all seem so interesting, and i can't wait to hear more about each!!! I feel like the book ended well with the still wonderful need to continue the series to know more. However, I truly dislike this narrator. Her failing attempts at not 1 character voicing, but all was painful. The mother sounded like an old crone. Her "deep" male voices sound like the grinch and not attractive, her additional female voices sound like 3 year old girls, and even her intimate moment/sexy sounds and voicing were quite unnerving.

Frustrating listen

The story really isn't bad, but my complaint is with the audible. To listen at a normal volume just to have the narrator whisper made it difficult to hear what was being said. I had to constantly rewind to raise the volume for those "thinking" and "whispering" parts. It was annoying! To turn the volume up to listen to the whispering made it too loud for the normal speaking. Ugh!! I hope the rest of this series isn't the same!! I thought the narrator was good except for that (which probably could've been taken care of through the recording).

Sexy and fun

Good love story, although I didn't really like the brother and brother's almost betrothed situation. Not sure I like one brother doing that to another. But it is just fiction and Alex and Eleanor are great together in the end. I agree with another review about the volume; the narrator whispers quite a lot and it's very hard to hear. ugh
