About this listen
Lux finds traveling outside Earth's magnetic fields is possible with the gravity drive, but the military from the US and other nations begins to push hard for the tech.
Could they use it to help mine the moon, asteroids, and the moons of other planets? Who controls the areas away from Earth when humans establish bases on different planets?
Lux becomes known around Earth, and the fame may be too much. He finds he is a target for governments and corporations that want to control him and his knowledge. He constantly has to fight off lawyers, greedy politicians, and corrupt corporations, not to mention the aggressive, autocratic nations.

When the over-driven hyperdrive on their mobile shipyard burned out, the Chhrt'ktk't abandoned it in an inhabited system along their path, hoping it would work as a decoy to buy them more time to escape the Khreetan fleet pursuing them. I like the story but
why is everyone treating this asteroid like it's the only one don't get me wrong I'm sure it's rare but the asteroid belt is huge I'm sure there are other asteroids with other compositions that could be useful it would just be easier to forget about that asteroid find a different one of similar composition and strap some gravity drives on another asteroid and put it into orbit around Mars

Fun story
Enjoyed the real organizations and their scientific discussions. Characters were well developed and conversations included enough humor and reality to suspend reality.

Great series. Highly recommend
Professor Pence has been a favorite storyteller of mine, but I think this “Lux” series is even better than his excellent “Trade World” series. Lux wins out in his struggle against the political powers that get greedy, and you can’t help but cheer for him. The narrator is ok with voicing a teenager, but the story is king. Loved it!
