Critic reviews

"With a Damme and a twinkle, Lambdin's chewy prose demands the reader parse echoes of an earlier day. Rich fun." ( Kirkus

this book answers so much if kept me wanting more if you follow the series this is a must have

What was one of the most memorable moments of King's Captain?

I don't want to give anything away but there is a real shocker at the end of the mutiny

Have you listened to any of John Lee’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

john lee is the voice of this series and would be hard to replace

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

a film could not do series any where near justice

Always fantastic

Keep going— second time through and even better this time. John Lee is amazing and could make even a novel akin to twilight sound good.

slow, but decent story

I enjoy this series, the writer is brilliant the narration is perfect.
this and the previous book are a little boring as we don't we anything but character repetitions without growth or expanse.
I am a little eye rolling, disdainful of the cheap play up to the main characters past transgressions....it's derivative and lacks the creativity of past books.
still not a bad story...hoping Dewey rekindles the spark in the next book.

oh and side note...quoting Latin and Greek texts once is nice, it shows the author is learned.....quoting them over and over and over in the same damn book...pretentious....Dewey we know ypu are smart, you don't have to prove it all the time...

Way too long

Must've been paid by the word, far too long, skipped much without missing the story line.
