History and Historiography

This book offers everything for the history nerd. There is an account of the war, an examination of public history in all of the battle sites, and exposure to the narratives that inform some of our understanding of the event.

interesting insight into an often overlooked bit o

a historical look at King Philip's War. while not the most colorful of narratives it does help fill in gaps in the history and connect dots to complete a greater picture of the conflict.

Very Good For What It Is, Very Detailed

This is an excellent, professional, non fiction work. It is as much a compilation of other documents as a narrative of the war. There are many very detailed descriptions of locations that would be useful if one was in the immediate vicinity and looking for actual precise locations. I read this at my residence in Pennsylvania and those descriptions were not useful for me. That is not a complaint. Just understand what you are getting. Thank You…

The untold story of a crucial part of American history

Loved this book. I grew up in the south shore and was never taught any of this growing up in school. The thing that really peaked my interest was stumbling upon Anawan Rock driving down rt 44. I stopped and read the sign at the entrance and was eager to learn more.

Overall great book!

Very well researched.

I enjoyed hearing of the locations where historical battles took place in relation to locations today. I enjoyed the book a lot. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more if I lived in New England S I would be more familiar with streets and place names.

Interesting Thorough Review

This book tells you EVERYTHING you might want to know about King Philips War. I feel like it could have been half the length, though, and I say that respectfully because it's obvious that the author loves the subject and has poured his heart into the book.

Historical References

The author provided locations of most events, so I am planning a road trip. Great job.
