Okay, so my bad for assuming the guy I was going on a date with wasn't married.

And my bad for taking him to a friend's house for dinner, only to find out my friend is also friends with his wife. Because, in fact, he is married. And she happens to be at my friend's house because her husband was "busy working."

Confused? So am I.

Unsurprisingly, my date's wife is super angry about finding out that her husband is a cheating asshole. Girl, I get it.

Then to make matters more convoluted, there is the man sitting next to my date's wife. A man named King, who is apparently her brother, and who lives up to his name.

Since my date is a two-timing prick, I'm not going to feel bad about drooling over King, especially since I'll never see him again. Or at least I don't plan to.

I plan to take an Uber to the cheater's apartment to get my car keys. I plan for it to be quick.

If I had to list a thousand possible outcomes… witnessing my date's murder, being kidnapped by his killer, then being forced to marry the super attractive but clearly deranged crime lord would not have been on my bingo card.

But alas, here I am.

Well Written

1. The story kept me engaged and didn't over due or under do 2. The narration was great. 3. The characters had balance =little crazy+ little love+

Pretty good book…

I might not have found this to be quite as stellar as others, but it was good and worth a listen.

I wish that I could give this book more than 5 stars! Great from beginning to end.

I laughed, gasped, swooned, and squirmed.
King was a walking red flag and Savannah was a hot mess for sure. But together they are *chefs kiss*.

Savannah couldn't catch a break, but King comes along and she's in for a ride! This book had me feeling like I was on a roller coaster, I experienced ALL THE FEELS.


After finishing this book I was in the biggest book slump ever! I tried starting like 5 different books but NO...nothing compared! I enjoy S.J. Tilly's books so much and look forward to all her releases.

I love this authors writing. It’s a mafia adult story but has a lot of humor sprinkled in the interactions of the characters

Yes yes and yes! I’m a sucker for a good touch her and you die book, and this one nails it. Spicy scenes, thick thigh woman, and a protective but super loving dog all wrapped up in one book is a MUST READ.

SJ knows how to write.

I absolutely loved everything about King. I had already read the entire Alliance series but loved it so much I decided to listen to them all and it did not disappoint. King is so perfectly obsessed with Savannah. They are everything.

King is my favorite in the whole series. I love this story. I laughed and cried. The narrators did amazing job!
