About the Author

Screen icon Kathleen Turner has garnered critical acclaim for her performances in movies including Romancing The Stone and Prizzi's Honor, which earned her back to back Golden Globe Awards. Among her other iconic roles are Peggy Sue Got Married, which brought Turner both an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe nomination. She received two additional Golden Globe nominations for War of the Roses and her scorching big screen debut, Body Heat.

Turner has also starred on Broadway in Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, for which she received a Tony nomination for Best Actress; Indiscretions; The Graduate; and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, for which she received a second Tony nomination for Best Actress.

The star recounted her many accomplishments and life experiences in a 2008 autobiography, Send Yourself Roses: Thoughts on my Life, Love, and Leading Roles, a New York Times Best Seller. She is also a director and activist, particularly for women’s health and finds it rewarding to teach master classes.

About the Co-Author

Dustin Morrow is an award-winning filmmaker, author, and media artist. His work frequently explores the relationship between music and the moving image; intersections of traditional cinema and emerging media; the actor-director relationship; and genre filmmaking. He was born and raised in western Illinois, and received his MFA from the Department of Cinematic Arts at the University of Iowa. He is currently a tenured Associate Professor in the School of Film at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, where he teaches courses in digital cinema production and film studies. He previously taught at Temple University in Philadelphia, Monmouth College in Illinois, and the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He has also led film education programs in Dublin, London, and New York City. He is the founding Director of the Portland Music Video Festival, and he has received grants for his work totaling more than half a million dollars.
