About this listen

The shocking, fast-paced and queasily funny follow-up to Jack Heath’s international best-selling thriller, Hangman

Timothy Blake, ex-consultant for the FBI, now works in body disposal for a local crime lord. One night he stumbles across a body he wasn’t supposed to find and is forced to hide it. When the FBI calls Blake in to investigate a missing university professor, Blake recognizes him as the dead man in his freezer.

Then another man goes missing. And another.

There’s a serial killer in Houston, Texas, and Blake is running out of time to solve the case. His investigation takes him to a sex doll factory, a sprawling landfill in Louisiana, and a secret cabin in the woods.

As they hunt the killer together, FBI agent Reese Thistle starts to warm to Blake - but she also gets closer and closer to discovering his terrible secret.

Can Blake uncover the killer without being exposed himself?

I really enjoyed the first book and I recommend getting it before you listen/read this one. The narration is spot on. I continue to laugh out loud to this man's writing. So come Jack, hit me with your next one!

Awesomely disgusting and disturbing!

I enjoyed the mystery of who done it! There was just enough gore and talk of body parts to keep me from predicting anything.

This is my first book by Jack Heath. I didn’t realize it was in a series. Now I have to decide on going back to see what happened to Blake before or look for the next book to satisfy the curiosity from the cliffhanger.
Also Christopher Ragland did a great job!

You can sink your teeth into this one!!!!

This is the second book in Jack Heath's Timothy Blake series. I suggest listening to The Hangmen first for background but this book will work as a stand alone.
Blake is a cannibal who works for a criminal organization as their body disposal person.
He has done consulting work for the FBI in the past and reconnected with a woman who had been in foster care with him as a child. At 30 years old he was still a virgin. This woman had been his only love but he was afraid he would hurt her in a horrible way. Blake now helps her on her terms and keeps his feelings to himself. Or so he thinks.
While working for the criminal organization he stumbles on a body in the woods and takes it home with him for dinner and a few other meals and snacks as well. Blake's friend has him working with her on another case not realizing the two will collide. When they do it will leave you reeling.
Anyway, there are lots of twisted characters with two stories happening simultaneously. A few false leads, strange meals and some very sick, dark and hilarious humor. Thankfully this is fiction and I was hooked from the beginning. Blake is actually a good guy with some really bad methods of dealing with things and a set of morals that keep him trying (sometimes failing) not to hurt the wrong person. But self preservation must come first.
I really like this series. Not too believable, not too plausible BUT very entertaining!
Christopher Ragland narrates this book fantastically.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Holmes + Lector + "boy next door"

The main character is a mixture of Sherlock Holmes, Hannibal Lector, and "the boy next door". Fun and riveting listen. The ending was a bit abrupt, so I'm looking forward to the sequel...

Creepy good!!

Loved the book and really love the narrator so much I want to look for some more books read by him. Definitely read the first book Hangman first. Hangman is the best of the two books, but I loved them both. He is a totally perfect anti-hero that you just want to root for even though you know that he is way too messed up to live happily ever after in any scenario, but you still hope for the best while not wanting it to spoil the creepy and while still hoping the author will set it up for the next creepy book as well.
