About this listen

What if the Bible actually keeps us from hearing the Word of God? For many Christians, the Bible is the only way to know anything about God. But according to that same Bible, everyone can know God directly through an actual relationship with Jesus. Jesus Unbound is an urgent call for the followers of Jesus to know Him intimately because the Gospel is not mere information about God, but a transformational experience with a Christ who is closer to us than our own heartbeat.

A game changer

This book will make you rethink the way you have been thought the Bible. Keith is a great author and tells things how they are without too much fluff or beating around the bush. If you are ready to unpack your beliefs, this is the book for you.

Excellent points, easy to understand!

Giles does again what he did in his previous books, giving us clear and concise information regarding God, Jesus, The holy spirit and the Bible. I loved it and look forward to more.

Powerful call to a true spirituality

This was a powerful book and it really puts into perspective the priorities we should have as Christians.

Jesus is the word of God and your Bible properly read (and put into its much lower place) is the witness of that truth, its story is a trajectory that leads us to Christ, but it doesn't replace Him, and sadly many treat as if it does.

I do believe that we need The Bible, hence that is why it exists, but we need to recognize that Jesus Christ is the Word of God and is the only perfect Word....so sometimes things written in The Bible contradict His revelation about God the Father, such as infantacide...so those parts should be rejected as being commanded by God; we must fully consider in that lens of Jesus all scripture before accepting anything on the face of it. That is what it means to have discernment, and Keith Giles really has it.

Letter to the Pharisees

“Sometimes the Bible in the hand of one man is worse than a whisky bottle in the hand of (another).” Harper Lee- To Kill a Mockingbird.

You may not be using the Bible to justify slavery or racism (but maybe the subjugation of women or intolerance of homosexuals?). Is your reading of the Bible helping you or preventing you from connecting with God? Is your current paradigm of scripture more in keeping with the Pharisees?

It’s Advent and we’re preparing for Christmas and the incarnation of God living among us. It’s also an era of great turmoil for Christians and it would be brave for us not to recognize that our connection with Christ is in need of repair. Living in Australia, we rank spiritual leaders among the least trustworthy people. A Catholic cardinal is in prison for child sex abuse. The Sydney Anglican diocese is promoting schism across the world. The activities of church leaders, the ironically labeled “Australian Christian Lobby” and Christians in general during the same sex marriage plebiscite have left us all nauseous (the veiled, sugar-coated, self-righteous intolerance being even more nauseating than the explicit variety).

This book is a call to remember Christ, read scripture through the lens of Christ, connect with Christ, act like Christ. It is an important message at any time, but perhaps now more than ever. While the focus is on the modern day Pharisaical practice, it is still a book for every Christian. Compelling, with solid foundations in scripture and, more importantly,
the Holy Spirit.

Amazingly profound

This book had a profound poignant gentle approach in laying out truth about the Bible and what I believed about its infallibility. The truths laid out in this book uncovered another layer to be refuted and removed in the deconstruction of my certainty of faith. The narrator’s calm voice really was a key component to this audio book. The gentle calm voice allowed me to take heart to what was said at the same time being surrounded by the sounds of crumbling walls of mistruths. I really recommend this book!!

Great Read

Great book that provides sound teaching on the Bible and Jesus outside of the foolishness of inerrancy and biblicism.

One of the best books I've ever read!

Essential reading for Christians and those who love their Bible. Loved it! I didn't agree with every single thing but I don't have to. The narrator is great too.

Powerful

Not only did it give me valuable information but drawed me back to humility and with a bigger view and focus on Christ. An amazing experience from God through a book about the Book!!! Imagine that?!?!

Can’t recommend it enough...

This is medicine for the Church

The Church is plagued by the same disease that infected the Pharisees. Clinging to outward religion, we walk by sight, confident in the concepts and dogma we place our trust in, trusting our ideas about the Bible, rather than a life of faith that is dependent upon the immediate, active voice of the Shepherd within us. This book is a wonderful invitation to recognize why we seem to have religion instead of the outpouring birth of God’s Divine Nature from within us. In these pages we are helped to realize our access to The Word of God who was made flesh, and has written His epistle upon the hearts of those who trust Him to be their Shepherd.

Fantastic Book! So glad I got it.

I’ve been struggling with the church for a long time and I feel this book helped me understand why. It’s made me realize just how alive Jesus really is. He is the Word!
