Doctor Jeremiah Wheeler dedicated 10 years of his professional career to the population of a maximum-security penitentiary in California. All he wanted was beer and a meal but instead, he ended up witnessing an argument that escalated into a knife fight. Forced into action to save a man's life, he fell headlong into the small town's business. There was nothing to hold him in Hollister. Well, almost nothing.
An urgent call from California holds him firmly in cattle country with no release date in sight. That is until the reason for his forced hiatus tracks him down. In order to save himself and Eden, he calls in a favor and makes a commitment to Guardian. One he'd gladly keep if he survives.

Whoa
This one had me hopping. I used to be a Criminal Minds gal BUT the description of listening to the first few chapters of this ALMOST had me turning back! I actually stopped for a few days and then came back to it and I am so glad I did. I love this story. After you hear it, you might think I’m a wimp…I’m ok with that!

Narrator sigh…
First let me say Kris Michaels has another winner with this book. I love this series especially with it being a spin-off and knowing ahead of time little bits of the main character. I just don’t care the the narrator is the same on every one of her books. Sometimes it’s hard to follow when he’s trying to be more then one male character since his voice doesn’t change much. But other then that I wouldn’t change anything else and would definitely and did pay a credit for this and the others that are out. I’ve listened to the series many times. Enjoy 😊
