Dies war das erste Buch, das ich von dieser Autorin gelesen habe. Von der ersten Seite an konnte ich das Buch kaum aus der Hand legen. Die Handlung ist spannend und der Schreibstil fesselnd. Ich freue mich schon sehr darauf, weitere Bücher dieser Autorin zu lesen!

Vom Debüt der Autorin war ich komplett begeistert. Ob es nahtlos so weitergeht?
Samantha soll eine ungewöhnliche spannende Story schreiben. Ihre Wahl fällt auf eine alte verlassene Psychatrie auf dem Land. Und nicht nur das... Sie will sie renovieren und hier wohnen, denn sie hat sich in das Gebäude und die Geschichte 😍 verliebt.
Doch die Einheimischen haben was dagegen, denn es gibt gruselige Stories rund um das alte Gebäude....und plötzlich passieren mehrere komische Vorfälle/Unfälle. Sind etwa die Geschichten wahr ?
Die Auflösung war irgendwann teilweise etwas voraussehbar, machte aber der Spannung keinen Abbruch.
Der besondere Schreibstil von Anna zeigt auch in diesem Buch seine Wirkung. Hinzu kommt das besondere und schon von der Beschreibung her gruselige Setting, welches mich wirklich begeistern konnte. Bei dem Rundgang durch die Psychatrie fühlte ich mich nah, so als wäre ich mittendrin und dabei. Und zusätzlich spielt das Ganze in Schottland, das Land, dass für seine Mythen bekannt ist.
Die Protagonisten werden gut beschrieben und wirken authentisch. Es gibt einige Wendungen und Überraschungen.
Es ist nicht immer alles so, wie es scheint.
Definitiv ein guter Anschluss an ihr Debüt. Von mir gibt es eine Leseempfehlung für alle, die Thriller mit einem gewissen Hauch Grusel mögen. Passt perfekt in die dunkle Jahreszeit.
