Publisher's summary

It Was Always You is a stunning psychological thriller which fans of authors like BA Paris, Clare Mackintosh and Fiona Barton are sure to love.

Morgan isn’t sure about her new boyfriend, Justin. Before the couple go on a romantic weekend trip, Morgan attends an appointment with her neurologist, Dr. Koftura, who has monitored her since an accident she had when she was seven years old. Morgan has a history of sabotaging her romantic relationships, and the doctor is concerned that she is following the same patterns with Justin.

On the day of their trip, Justin runs the car off the road into a tree, killing himself and hurting Morgan. When she awakens in the hospital, Morgan has little time to grapple with this loss before detectives arrive to question her.

As it becomes clear that the detectives believe Morgan is responsible for Justin’s death, Morgan must unlock the secrets of her past to prove her innocence.

I liked the way the story progressed without losing momentum.

I liked the way the main character was able to thrive despite her past and being sent to different foster families.

Good psychological thriller

The book was a little predictable to me, except for one part that was a bit surprising right up until the end. It’s still a good book and interesting listen or read!

Suspense. Friendship.

I enjoyed the friendship banter and the professional atmosphere of classes alongside a touch of romance. Suspenseful til the end.

Thriller

Good book! My only holdup, for lack of the right word, was that both of my children graduated from YSU, one having gone thru the psych program for masters, so I knew the names in the book were not really professors at the school, so it was weird to listen to. When I decided on the book, I didn’t bother to look up the author or anything, so it caught me by surprise hearing so much about good ol’ Y-town & the college. LOL

Not the usual Formula

I liked the plot, which I thought deviated from the mystery/thriller norm. Good character development. Kept me engaged.

It was always you

I actually bought this by mistake but after reading the story line I decided to listen to it. The narration/ voice was good and I felt it matched the character. which is important when i listen to audiobooks. i love to read the stories myself but travel 30 hrs a week by car and sometimes just need a break from reading and instead need to have something read to me. . The outcome was surprising and I was really happy to have stuck with the purchase. I recommend this book if you like plot twist stories. I will definitely look into other titles by this author.

unrealistic villains

I didn't like the reason the villains targeted the main characters. this was really stupid but I guess anything is possible. I didn't like any of the characters or sympathize with them

Broken souls and broken cities - America’s industrial heartland

Creepy mixture of twisted plots within plots set in destroyed industrial Midwest
Nice recipe for success
