About this listen

Axel betrayed me.

As hard as I tried to keep him out of my heart, he broke through it like shattered glass. Even though my father didn't approve and our relationship would always be a secret, I didn't care. He was worth it… until he wasn't.

Six months have passed, and that's exactly how long it's taken me to get over what he's done. I never see him at my father's estate. My father never mentions him. Like he never existed at all, he's wiped from the face of the earth.

Until my father tells me he's going to stab Axel in the back and replace him with someone new. I know what a mistake that will be, but my warning falls on deaf ears.

We finally come face to face for the first time. His ingenious plan knocks my father off his feet and he takes the business for his own. If my father wants it back, it's going to come at a price. A price that he won't have to pay—but I will.

And that's to marry him.

More please!!!!!!

This one was such a slow burn, so angsty but I loved it so much! I cannot wait to see how the rest of Axel and Scarlett’s story unfolds.

Great Book but....

Great book but it would and could be so interesting that 67m654gtttgt⁴ narrated this entire series without the other female narrator who was totally unnecessary. Micheal.F is the best narrator of all time for both the male and female rolls. He is absolutely amazing!!! sometimes I wonder if they get another narrator to do the opposite roll because they couldn't afford to have the one and only Micheal.F do the whole thing as he should have done. He is the best!!!!
The book is really good but that would have made it amazing!!

Frusterating because I’m a romantic

I generally want people who share of connection to be together. The idea that this book ends with such deceit and misleading the main character drives me crazy. His feelings for her are so apparent, it’s hard to understand how she doesn’t question the events a little harder. But alas, it has my attention. So onward. I just finished the 2nd book and ok to book 3. I do however wish there was more detailed sex scenes but I’m a smut novel fan so that’s why I initially downloaded this book. Book is good, story is good, not really smutty enough for me.

Repetitive Angst

3.5 stars. I enjoyed the first book and the MCs Scarlett and Axel. Then, we’re introduced to a new side character. Scarlett was likable, but listening to her father over her husband became annoying. The mutual pining but her inner dialogue about how good-looking he was, especially his eyes, was mentioned too many times. Her stubbornness drags on to the next book (another cliffhanger), but I want to read how Scarlett reacts when she discovers the truth. I'm also curious about Theo and where his story leads.

Needed more detail.

Loved the female narrator who delivered her part of the material given. So much of the novel was primarily a verbal exchange between the two main characters and would have enjoyed more about details about what was going on with the supporting elements of the main plot.

Too much OW for my taste

He didn't cheat but then went around town with OW after the breakup, which is basically the same thing. Kills the whole premise of the book. Do not recommend.
