Publisher's summary

Brought to you by Its Majesty's Government. Greatest Britain: For a Global Universe.

Strap yourself in and maybe put on a crash helmet, Agent Isaac Steele has another case to crack.

The theft of the Best Idea in the Universe from Thresia's Intergalactic Bank of Ideas plunges the Discovered Universe into chaos. With a robotic partner who’s not the machine he fell in love with and a mind as cool and measured as a forest fire, Isaac must unravel a cosmic conspiracy that stretches further than the reaches of even his depraved imagination.

Earth and Thresia teeter on the brink of war as the race to recover the Best Idea intensifies. Yet in this bizarre Universe, truth proves stranger - and far more perilous - than fiction.

So put on that helmet and possibly add kneepads actually for a mind-bending journey through space, time, and the occasional bar in this latest adventure from the brilliantly warped mind of BAFTA winner Daniel Rigby.

Even better than the first!

Steele is made of the stuff, at least somewhere in there. It's a great story and isn't bogged down with extraneous info. It's all about the story of this sometimes hard to fathom human cyborg.

I love the first two books of this series for their conflicts, internal and external, and all the detective work, or avoidance of it and why. Some things are not gone into deeply enough so I look forward to those answers in the next book(s) in the series. Highly recommended if you're into detective v. bureaucracy v. villain v. well-meaning friends science fiction.

Narration: transition to a new world is seamless because of how well it was written and interpreted by author's own voice, An even smoother listen than the first book.

SUCH A CLIFFHANGER, AHHHH

Another amazing, hella fun listen. I literally listened to it in a day— I COULD NOT STOP. I love this strange universe and all the strange, strange beings in it.

One of my fav things about this book was how different Steele had to approach life after losing his ~favorite coping mechanisms.~ The growth he seems to undergo is quite significant, and I’m SO excited to see where this leads. I’m waiting the next book with bated breath, because this one leads with SUCH a cliffhanger— I’m going crazy!! 😨

I can’t wait for more— these have been great so far and I’ll be listening to them on repeat, I can already tell.

Fantastic listen

After I finished the first book, I was almost upset (ok, I really was upset) to find this author didn’t have any other books available. This is such a fun listen, well written, with excellent narration by the author. Smart and funny, bitingly sarcastic and witty-just so enjoyable! I’m reminded of Hitchikers Guide, but the narration takes it a notch above. Really, my favorite new author! I hope he continues this series, though I would love to see anything he comes up with.

Love it

Inventive storyline with wonderful, and at times unexpected, humor. Was so stoked to find a second Isaac Steele book when I opened Audible today!

The serious comedy sci-fi we've been waiting for.

As someone who literally grew up and memorized the Hitchhiker's Guide, I've been a comedy sci-fi junkie for quite some time. Sadly, some of the things I loved growing up just didn't age well and I've been looking for The New Fix™.
Daniel Rigby is the biting new smartass that truly feels 21at century. Big story with so many one-liners, I chuckled quite often.
Seriously, get on the Isaac Steele train now. Or don't. I'll never know... but I'll say it again with caps lok: GET ON THE ISAAC STEELE TRAIN NOW!

Still fantastic

As a result of the first book being possibly my favorite audiobook I feel my own expectations were so high that this installment could never reach them. That being said I am still pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book. All you need to know; it was worth the wait, it’s still very funny, and I can’t wait for the next one.

More please

I wish everything was as well done as these books. And that he writes so many more! Better than TV or movies. Never a dull moment and excellent dialog. Ridiculous and timely.
