About this listen

AXEL

My days as MC president are numbered. From the outside, the Ironwood Lords of Carnage are involved in a full-on war. It's an existential threat to the club. On the inside, there's another kind of war ravaging me. It's only a matter of time until it takes me out. It's a race against the clock. And the clock will win.

In the middle of the storm . . . I meet her. Falling for Eden was never part of the plan. I don't deserve her. I can never have her. But my stupid heart doesn't listen to that. The more I try to walk away, the tighter I'm drawn in. Loving her means I need to leave her. Saving her means walking away. For her own good.

EDEN

I lost the only love I'd ever known. All I have left of him now is my son. I moved to this place to make a new life for us. I'm alone except for him. Down, and trying not to be out. Then I meet the president of the Lords of Carnage Ironwood. He's like me. Broken. Damaged. Alone. I told him I've given up on love. He told me he'd given up on life.

But something woke between us. Something unstoppable. And we can't seem to give up on each other. He healed my heart. Will he let me heal his?

Contains mature themes.

Axel and Eden

An overwhelmingly intense, suspenseful and beautifully captivating journey to embark on with Axel and Eden. I had been waiting to see what happened to Eden and I was definitely not disappointed. Although there is so much going on with the club Axel and Eden developed a deep connection that was simply perfect. I enjoyed everything about this story. Narration was fantastic!

Unfulfilling characters based on series

I guess a series can have duds, and this book is an example of an unsatisfying episode.
The story and characters lacked some depth, perhaps the rest of the series was supposed to support that missing depth.
I may also have higher expectations of the author based on previous books in series.

Daft Broad! 🫣

😭Gloom n doom amigas! (please note my review also includes spoilers - FYI)
I really wanted to like this book....but It didn't do it for me.
Although the narration was absolutely magnificent as usual. Bravo Troy and Ana.

I simply found the plot to be boring. There is a single mother, widowed who takes off away from her friends and family alienating herself and her child without any means of supporting herself. Make ZERO sense to me. Sorry!

Our leading lady "Eden" has no money saved, and no way of taking care of herself or her child. At least if she would have stayed back home she would've had a support system and money. Just sayin!

I felt sorry for her character for about 2 chapters. The entire story is about her "heart ache" with mega angst... Sign!

Enter - leading man Axel.

At first I think he's a good guy wanting to help a women in need + amore. ❤️‍🔥 Axel shows his true colors, 3/4 into the book when he takes off on Eden and her son. WHAT AN ASS!

I literally couldn't stand either character near the end of this book and was not rooting for either. They had NO connection other than sex (in which Alex got free, daily from the prostitutes at his club) ...double sigh.

Were the Sex scenes HOT?.....heck yea! (D.L knows how to write white hot amor!!) BRAVA!
Other than the romantic scenes, the rest of the book was dim.

Near the end of the book I did start to feel bad again for Eden. This lady just needed a fricken break folks! UHHH! COME ON! I wanted to start a "fund me" page for her and her adorable son.

I flew back into a rage when ol' Axel came back into her life after he treated her like SH*T! (This dumb broad takes em back!) NO NO NOooooooo PORFA! UHHHH! Talk about mental abuse!

❤️‍🔥Allow me tell you how I would have ended this book.....

Eden helps her babysitter (who is being abused by her brother and mother) In order to get her money back...they purchase a bottle of booze for the loser bro and madre (and spike it.) Once the brother and mother fall asleep -Eden and the babysitter retrieve their stolen cash- then blow outta town via bus (not alerting anyone where they are headed!) Especially NOT ALEX!

They relocate in a quaint new town in a nearby state for a beautiful start fresh. Eden ends up opening her own yoga studio and perseveres! YEA!!! Girl power!

Stubborn Ol' Axel waits 6 months until he finally goes lookin for Eden. Shockingly he finds out she has moved without a trace and slips into a deep depression. (not even the club girls can cheer him up) Poor sap!

Eden finds a "NEW" and wonderful man that's not in an MC club and they live happily ever after.
Two years later Eden calls her gals pals from back home and gets an invite to one of their weddings. Eden attends the wedding with her new and amazing fiance. Axel also attends the wedding and there is a scuffle. Eden finally stands up to Axel and puts him in his place! AHHH, YESSS! Eden lives happily ever after!

Just sayin!

Until the next MC book!

- Namaste! 🫦
