About this listen

Irish Milkshake Murder by Carlene O'Connor: In advance of their St. Patrick's Day wedding, Tara and Danny are off to the Aran Islands with their bridesmaids and groomsmen for a joint hen and stag party. The weekend kicks off with the ferry trip, as the passengers enjoy boozy milkshakes on board. But a murder shamrocks the boat as someone's spiked shake turns out to be their final round. Stuck in a rural island cottage, while a storm rages outside, Tara must find the Celtic killer before her luck runs out . . .

Murder Most Irish by Peggy Ehrhart: As St. Patrick's Day is drawing near, the folks at Hyler's Luncheonette are getting into the holiday spirit with a festive new green milkshake. It's a hit, until a patron is felled by one of the frothy concoctions. Now, it's up to Pamela Paterson and her Knit & Nibble knitting club pal, Bettina Fraser, to catch a murderer and put a stop to the sheer madness . . .

Mrs. Claus and the Luckless Leprechaun by Liz Ireland: To celebrate Spring in Santaland, April Claus's friend, Claire, whips up some minty milkshakes for her bustling ice cream shop, Santaland Scoop. But when the St. Paddy's promotion makes one elf the target of a decidedly unlucky strike, Mrs. Claus and her friends must figure out if the attack was a failed hit job, a crime of passion, or an extremely unfortunate accident . . .

disappointed

I typically love Carlene O'Connor's books and couldn't wait for this to come out. I am so disappointed. First I did not realize it was multiple short stories. Secondly, I could not get past the narrator. She did not fit with the storylines as the other author did. I would not buy another with her as the narrator. I could not even get through the second story sadly.

Overall good. Editing needs work.

Got this because I listen to Carlene O'Conner and enjoyed the stories. The editing leaves something to be desired though. I've found two repeated sentences so far and EVERY chapter has its end marked a second or two early, making the chapter timer useless.

The Last One is Especially Cute!

I am a big fan of Carlene O’Connor, but I’ll admit I’m still deciding whether I like the Home to Ireland series as well as I’d like to. The story included here was just fine, which is how I feel about the series. I didn’t pay attention when I used my credit on this one, so I was a little nervous. (Although, whoever left the 1 star review without any comments wasn’t the reason. I discounted it because no reason was given and that’s less than helpful.) The second story was perfectly good and I enjoyed revisiting familiar characters. The last story was just adorable. I was a little unsure at first, but I really enjoyed it. The narrator did a good job, but I did find her voice very soft in certain parts, but that might not be her fault. Three short stories are fun.

Not the usual Carlene O’Connor novel

I was a huge fan of O’Connor’s mysteries, until the Irish Milkshake Murder series. However, Murder Most Irish, and the 3rd novel in the series, Mrs. Claus and the Luckless leprechaun, (there are even talking reindeer!) were silly, boring and not worth the money I spent!

Total waste of time

Extremely boring - there are 3 short murder stories. The first one is the last of a series of 3
Books based on an american transplant to ireland named TARA. The first 2 were quite ok. But this 3rd one was just a lot of stupid follies. The bext 2 milkshake murder short stories are just garbage and totally boring. The author goes into excruciating details re bread, coffee, cakes, biscuits and the prep thereof every few minutes. Just ridiculous waste of time. Didnt bother to finish the 3rd story.
