About this listen

Best seller in Amazon Inspirational Romance.

"As long as you continue to travel through life in this darkness, you will never know how beautiful your light truly shines when you let yourself love and be loved. Trust me when I say, it's a breathtaking sight to see. You burn as bright as the sun."

When Aubrey Miller begins her education at Titan University, she is no longer the beautiful, blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl of her youth. In fact, she's no longer even Aubrey Miller.

Overcome with guilt and unable to cope with the loss of her beloved family, she has long since buried eight-year old Aubrey along with them and transformed herself into Raven Miller. Now with jet-black hair, multiple sets of eccentric contact lenses, and several facial piercings, she's veiled herself in complete darkness as a form of protection for herself, as well as others.

As she enters her first year of college, her goal is simple: earn a degree with the least amount of social interaction as possible. What she never anticipates is the formation of very unlikely relationships with two people who will change her life in ways she never believed possible: Quinn Matthews, the overtly cheerful pageant queen, and Kaeleb McMadden, a childhood friend who never really let her go.

Over the years, as their connections intertwine and strengthen, a seemingly indestructible bond is formed between the three. And eventually, the ties of friendship and discovery of first love begin to coax her from her darkened path as they slowly bring Aubrey back to life.

But when faced with the possibility of yet another death, one from which she may never recover, Aubrey finds herself lost again, burying herself deeper than ever before beneath the familiar abyss of her fears.

Spanning the course of four years, this is the story of a young woman's journey to finally reemerge, finding strength within unbreakable bonds as she delivers herself from her own manufactured darkness and safely back into the light.

Incredible Story - Excellent Audiobook

This was my first book from LB Simmons and I was completely blown away. TRoAM has it all. Character growth, engaging and intense story, and romance to soften the heartbreaking moments. I was completely enthralled with this story and the way it touched my heart. Sometimes I am a little disconnected from the characters with audiobooks but that did not happen with TRoAM. I felt the emotions deeply and even had to take a short listening break for fear that I was on the verge of an ugly cry on my way to work. I am glad I took that break and succumbed to the emotional response in the privacy of my home. BRAVO for a job well done with both the story and the narration!!

Gripping, heartbreaking, hopeful.

Must listen! Having read "Under the Influence" I wasn't expecting this story from the same author.

This is definitely one of my favorites and will remain in my library indefinitely.

You must read/listen to this book!!!

Holy wow, this book. It was beyond amazing. It gave me all the feels. Several hours later and I still can’t process to give this a proper review. I spent the last 20% fighting back tears...and not the few that might slip out, I mean a river of tears. I’m a huge audiobook fan, but I’m picky. Typically, I don’t care for single narration books — unless the narrator is spot on. Lemme just tell you, this narrator hit it out of the park! So, so good!!! I’m looking forward to continuing the series and reading more books by this amazingly talented author!

The Resurrection of Aubrey Miller Review

Would you consider the audio edition of The Resurrection of Aubrey Miller to be better than the print version?

the audio brings new life to the book in the way it's read by the narrator

What does Arden Hammersmith bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Arden became Aubrey, she was the most perfect person to bring this character to life. eveything about the way she read was spot on.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had an extreme reaction the very first time I read this book. listening to the audio companion amplified every single feeling I ever felt by ten. I laughed harder, cried more tears and smiled bigger.

Any additional comments?

this audio companion is everything I could have ever hoped to have for my favorite book. just absolutely incredible!!!!

3.75 Shine always Stars!

Really liked this story and the narrator did a great job. Most of the book was kind of depressing so you need to be prepared. Don't let that deter you from giving this book a chance, just make sure you're in the right headspace. Your heart will not only ache for Aubrey but for Quinn and Kaeleb. Because the story spans four years we are told a lot of the past vs seeing it happen. That's my on my negative as I really missed actually seeing some of the deeper relationships develop.

A resurrection for my heart

This book is more emotionally honest and fulfilling than any new adult book I've read. It dares the reader to find the courage to live rather than wallow in the darkness or heartbreak that consumes us. It's about how much life one can truly find when they give living a chance. It made me emotionally raw, but there was plenty of moments that made me smile and laugh to balance it out.

"Every being in this world makes an impact on at least one person they encounter during their lifetime. You can change the course of someone's life by just a kind word, a hateful one, or even by simply choosing not to say anything at all. Every choice you make has the potential to create a ripple effect, trickling into and affecting the lives of others."

We see how Raven, aka Aubrey, believes it's easier to hide behind a mask, keep everyone at arm's length, and that by doing so it will save them from death and protect her from another heartbreak. But through her friends Quinn and Kaeleb, Aubrey is able to face her fears, grieve her losses, and open herself up again to the possibility of life.

"As l long as you continue to travel through life in this darkness you will never know how beautiful your light truly shines when you let yourself love and be loved."

This is such a beautiful book that everyone should experience. The narrator also did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. 4.5 stars!

one of my favorite books of 2014

If you could sum up The Resurrection of Aubrey Miller in three words, what would they be?

heartbreaking beautiful lovestory

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kaeleb. Because he is a keeper and says stuff like this: “You know, if the sun and the moon were to actually collide, it would set off a cataclysmic reaction of epic proportions. Are you ready to have your world completely obliterated?” and “I hope that one day you’ll find that source of light and let it heal you, too. Because if you do, it will illuminate your path and eventually lead you home. To me.”

Have you listened to any of Arden Hammersmith’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Not yet

Any additional comments?

Arden Hemmersmith does a wonderful job narrating this unique lovestory
