About this listen

With peace finally descending on the Romanian Grey Wolves, longtime fae ambassador to the wolves, Perizada, has been given a new mission by the Great Luna. But Peri's desire for revenge against her sister, Lorelle, burns in her heart.

Further complicating matters, the great white wolf, Lucian Lupei, has been returned to the pack after centuries trapped in the Dark Forest, and it appears he is destined to be with Peri. Can she put aside her thoughts of vengeance long enough to accept Lucian's love and complete her mission?

Beautifully Told

I love the voices that the narrator uses. They work perfectly with the characters and it helps me realize who is reading.

The Storyline brings you in and makes you want to move onto the next book right away. Quinn is one of my favorite authors. I have already read these books and wanted to listen to them. Story is wonderful and makes you want more.

Hoooly fur balls!

I’m kind of at a loss here... I loved it. I hated it. I wanna junk punch wolves. The whole nine yards. Lol

As usual Quinn has taken us on a wild ride.

The Great Luna has given Peri a mission. One that’s taken a few of our favorites and put them on a new path. A path that will lead the to more Gypsy healers and a new old evil. The story is dramatic, heart pounding an at time infuriating.... but the good kind. Ya know the kind where you wish you could bring a character to life so you could smack them.

I can’t wait to see what happens next. I’m prepared for the cussing to start.

love story but getting irritable

I love the story but I hated the excessive talking and the unnecessary time waste to get to the healers. It's sort of weighing on me because it's getting repetitive in all the books. Always excessive time waste. Like Jen would say... let's go guns blazing. Cut straight to it.

Love/Hate relationship with this one!

Still listening but, keeping in mind that I've already read this story multiple times and loved it, this is my initial impression as of right now. The story is still just as good as the first time I read it. However, the narrator is driving me crazy on a few points. One, the accents that she has chosen for some of the characters are bizarre and irksome. Almost all the accents are overly dramatic and her Romanian accents sometimes sound more southern than Romanian. Two, she doesn't seem to know how to pronounce the names of some of the characters correctly. I wish she had taken the time to listen to how the names are supposed to be pronounced. (Ex. Decebel is being pronounced as Decebell, and Vasile is being pronounced as Vasel, like Vaseline.) Off to listen to some more. Be back later with more thoughts.

Almost done, but I'm gonna go ahead and finish my review as I already know the ending.

As always I love the story. Quinn Loftis has a knack for writing YA stories that are interesting for all ages. This story takes in a new direction though. Sally, Costin, Peri, Lucian, Adam, Crina, Sorin and Elle have a new mission from the Great Luna. She has tasked them with finding, protecting and training five new healers. Five women of different ages, some of whom have no idea magic is real. With five new healers comes five new mated pairs, but you don't get to see the pairs meet just yet. That will come in later books. Lorrell is up to her same old shenanigans. Whining about how life is unfair to her and she should be revered more than her sister because she's better than Peri. Which, of course, we all know is a bunch of crap. I like that this story begins with a bit of a calm, that type of calm that is always present right before a terrible storm. That terrible storm comes in the form of a Fae who was thought to be long dead, Volcan. He is stuck in a spirit form with no form. He was trapped in the Dark Forest, but when Lorrell decided to use it for her last 'game', he was sort of awakened. Now, he is determined to obtain the Healers in order to absorb their magic so he can regain his physical form. He a sick, twisted, demented type of foe and he has absolutely no moral or redeeming qualities. I truly didn't like him, which means the author did an amazing job creating him. I felt so badly for poor Jewel, a 15 yr old girl who is thrust into a world that, until now, she had only minor glimpses of. It's so sad that their initial introduction into this magical and amazing world had to be so terrible and traumatizing. I'm glad that they managed to rescue the healers that Lorrell and Volcan had gotten their hands on, though I do wish it had been a bit of a quicker rescue. What Jewel had to endure was something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, but she proved her strength throughout, which is something I have a feeling is a trait she will gravely need later. I'm happy to report that Lorrell got her just due in the end. The ending was surprising and I hope that Dalton will get his head out of his rear before he loses more than his common sense.

Well done to the author on another successful story. 5/5 *s for her.

As for the narrator. I managed to listen past her voices, but it still was a bit irksome throughout. I hope, if she's used for anymore books, she learns the names and chooses better accents. Having said that, I will say that at least she showed the right amount of passion and emotion in her words as she read. I always enjoy books more if the narrator allows the characters emotions to shine through their words. I'm gonna have to say 3/5 stars for the narration simply due to the names being mispronounced and the weird accents.

Off to read/listen to the next book.

Serious page turner

The new healers are very interesting. Definitely invested in these gypsies. I'm glad that this story is adding value to the GWS. Sally is going to be a great mentor.
