“Readers will fully engage with the well-drawn characters as Parks convincingly reveals the science that buttresses the suspenseful plot. Michael Crichton fans won’t want to miss this one.” (Publishers Weekly, starred review)

From international best-selling author Brad Parks comes an emotional, heart-pounding thriller that explores the scientific unknown - and one woman’s efforts to save her husband from its consequences.

Quantum physicist Matt Bronik is suffering from strange, violent seizures that medical science seems powerless to explain - much to the consternation of his wife, Brigid.

Matt doesn’t think these fits could be related to his research, which he has always described as benign and esoteric. That, it turns out, is not quite true: Matt has been prodding the mysteries of the quantum universe, with terrible repercussions for his health. And perhaps even for humanity as a whole.

Then, in the midst of another seizure, Matt disappears. When foul play is feared, there is no shortage of suspects. Matt’s research had gained the attention of Chinese competitors, an unscrupulous billionaire, and the Department of Defense, among others. With Matt’s life in clear danger, Brigid sets out to find him. Will Matt be killed before she reaches him, or could the physics that endangered him actually be used to save his life?

Reseñas de la Crítica

"A smart, innovative thriller that evokes the best of Michael Chrichton and Blake Crouch. Parks proposes the seemingly improbable, makes it plausible, then weaves in twists and turns, taking the reader on a mind-bending ride." (Robert Dugoni, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon best-selling author of the Tracy Crosswhite series)

"Interference brings all the right ingredients to a novel! Brad Parks has created a story with a fascinating plot line and great characters - an up-all-night page-turner. I loved it!" (Heather Graham, New York Times best-selling author)

"Utterly absorbing, relentlessly paced, and cunningly assembled. Brad Parks is the sort of master craftsman who makes everything look easy. I hate him a little bit." (Marcus Sakey, Wall Street Journal best-selling author of Afterlife)

It began with an interesting Sci-Fi premise - quantum interference/entanglement of humans. It turned into a good whodunit and it kept me listening, so in that respect it was a good read. But by the time I finished it i felt like I had been listening to a telenovela with the most perfect people on the planet aligned up against the forces of disorder and avarice. The voice of the NH State Policeman, Emmett, was perfect and I always enjoyed sections where he was involved. Bridget was a overwrought and tedious. I liked the setting at Dartmouth and NH in general. I was looking for a sci-fi when, but would say it fell a little short in that respect.

Suboptimal

This was an interesting concept to the story at the beginning. Written slightly above average. I enjoyed the dual readers to give more diversity to the characters. The ending was an interesting twist...if you dont pay attention to the story. otherwise you may guess it before the ending. B+

was ok at first , but the end was rather fast and not well thought out. I wouldn't read again.

Masterfully suspenseful with twists and turns on every corner with barely a dull moment. I thought I could predict the ending, but I was completely wrong. Highly recommend

Couldn't put it down

Wow! At first I thought I was going to be listening to a sci-fi novel, but it quickly became a crime novel with science being a part of it. The characters were well drawn and the storyline kept delivering surprises until the very end. I couldn't stop listening.

Twist and Turns until the very End

First of all the Author is a good writer, and the narration is excellent (Christopher Lane) -but I expected a little more "science" based on the publisher's summary. I was much more interested in parts of the story dealing with the science. Then it would lapse into romance novel territory with the female character droning on and on about stuff that seemed pointless to the story. How she felt about this or that. (The hearing impairment part of it was something that will be highly relatable to anyone who has gone through it.)

+1 for the cop and +1 one for the kidnapped physicist. They were interesting characters.

All in all I would still recommend this book to folks who like a good crime thriller with the proviso that it's a bit pedestrian.

Great narration, decent writing, thin plot.

Science is, at best, a circumstantial plot device in this story. There are many plot holes, esp. re. law. Missing Persons is not in charge of kidnappings, illegal contracts and those made under duress are not enforceable, and people with intimate knowledge of a crime are not automatically presumed to be "psychic". The first presumption of law enforcement for the latter corcumstance should be that the supposed psychic is envolved in the crime. Horses not zebras. Other than that, this is just an average police procedural with few characters displaying much depth.

I thought this was going to be sci-fi. It's not.

Kind of no sensible at the end but good characters. It was easy to listen to.
