About this listen

Ever since leaving Salvation and escaping the quarry, things had got better and better for Callie and the rest of the community.

But now a single afternoon has turned their world upside down.

The clock is ticking to save one of their own, and a simple plan becomes a foreboding quest.

They’re about to learn just how much the world has changed. They’re about to learn that they didn’t know what real fear was.

New friends, old foes, and a treacherous journey mean not everyone will make it home.

If they get through today, none of their lives will be the same again.

Excellent Third Installment!

Christopher is such a great story teller. From Horror, to Zombies to Surviving The End of the Planet he keeps you coming back for more. It's almost as if he has gone into the future and brought back what he's found out.
This third book in The Burning Tree series knocks it out of the ballpark. The community now face dangerous waters. Needing medication they don't have, a small group head back to Salvation to raid level 3 only to stumble onto a horrific scene. Finding a new community that can make all their hopes come true, Calli holds nothing back in the quest for antibiotics.
Kim Bretton is as amazing as she always is. By far, my favorite narrator.

Now the adventure begins

I appreciate the pacing of this series. There's no drawn-out, boring sections. They're suddenly thrust into a new world, and dealing with new obstacles and fears.

Absorbing Dystopian Series

I was so absorbed by the third book in this series, that once I started the audiobook, I had to listen to it until the very end. I think the third book was better than the second one. This series just gets better with each succeeding book. I recommend this series to others who enjoy this genre. Kim Bretton's narration was spectacular, and her performance engages the listener. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Infinity

Another great book in a great series, written by one of my favorite authors! Just when you think that Christopher Artinian can't come up with anything new to plague his readers, BAM! And, don't expect any calm, peaceful times as you read this book. The action starts early and never lets you relax!

One of the things I like the most about this author's books is that the characters are so well-developed and become like friends or family. And, they definitely aren't saints and come complete with all the flaws a human has. The ones that you start out hating or mistrusting often become some of your favorite characters.

This book also continues to educate the reader in the various ways that someone might be better able to survive a post-apocalyptic world. Mr. Artinian has definitely done a lot of research in this aspect and I appreciate the time that he devoted to this.

There are also some thought provoking quotes that really stand out for me. "Sometimes things just happen and there's nothing anyone can do about it.""What the hell's wrong with people? They're never, ever going to change."

Another thing I love about these books is that the female characters, even the young ones, are awesome! You won't find a bunch of dependent, whiny women or girls within these pages and I would put any of the females up against a macho brute any day!

The narrator, Kim Bretton, does her usual fantastic job in bringing this great book to life. Even if you have read a physical version of this book, her performance makes it all seem new. The different voices that she uses for the individual characters makes the story move at a fast pace and it's almost like watching a movie n your mind.

I look forward to continuing this series in Book 4 and can't wait to see what the author has in store for his characters next. Well done, Mr. Artinian, well done!

Worth the wait!

Oh this series is so good! I love the transition sounds. The song, The Burning Tree feels like what we are currently doing as society. I like the amount of research and information given about the ways we have forgotten.
Seemingly idyllic day at the beach turns terrifying, a young boys life is at stake. Callie, strong and determined, will not give up.

Thank you Chris and Tina for my birthday review copy. Made my weekend! I freely write this review, I believe my review of the book may have been better, this audiobook of course brought your words to life. Kim rocked it as always.
