About this listen
Darkness came to mark the end of the age of the titans as surely as there was ever light at the beginning. During this time of darkness, known as the Great Purge, it was the greatest of all titans, Ky'el, who gave men, elves, and dwarves their freedom. By the end of the purge, the only known gate to Over-Earth was sealed for all time, ushering in a new beginning. A new age. An age of men, elves, and dwarves.
After countless wars waged against themselves, each other, and the other races, men, elves, and dwarves settled into an uneasy pace within their divided lands. In time, like the titans before them, dwarves became folk of myth and legend, leaving only absence like a darkness where once there had been a great presence and a light.
The age of men and elves had arrived, its arrival marked by the coming of the great war. Some would call this war Dnyarr's war after the 11th king who started it. Others would call it the War of the Thousand Year Siege. Those who fought and died would call it the War of Ten Million Tears. Victory for men above all others brought little joy even though it ushered in a new age. The age of men.
There are some who fear this age to be Ruin Mist's last. For if men succumb to darkness, there will be no beginning, and darkness will surely rule forever. It is in this time at the twilight of the age of men that those long lost have returned to thwart the darkness. They are the fallen sons of ages past and present. They are the keepers, the watchers, and the guardians. They are those who hold the key to Ruin Mist's future.

Worth every penny
What an incredible story this is! It's filled with lush detail and such an interesting plot and complex characters that the final chapter leaves any reader hungry for the next book. It's a great epic fantasy story of Vilmos a young mage, Adrina a princess of a dying land, and the elf Seth. The book is superbly written, with rich English language. The well-described characters, rich world and vivid descriptions are incredible. Mr. Stanek is definately going to be one of the greats, right along with Tolkien, Rowling, Carroll, Alexander, Lewis, and Dahl. I can't wait to see where he'll go when he's finished this. Buy it for yourself then for your family, then your friends, then the people you meet on the street.

Robert Stanek is our favorite author and this is another excellent book in the series. If you are a fan of fantasy or just looking for a great book, this is a great book. Be sure to start with the first one.

Simple Suberb Fantasy!
This is the third book of the series In the Service of Dragons, which is a sequel series to The Kingdom's and the Elves of the Reaches. So if you're new to Stanek's writing, I would start with The Kingdom's and the Elves of the Reaches book I.
The story itself is amazing, and the voice artist does a great job in telling the tale. The series starts to get especially interesting in this third book. A deep, detailed, and interesting story, and one that's great to listen to, In the Service of Dragons is a great audiobook for those who have read or listened to the previous titles in the series.

Best in the World
These are some of the greatest novels I have ever read. The storylines are so intricate and you find out that everything he says has a purpose and everyone seems to be related to one another. I think they are up there with Harry Potter! Anyone who enjoys a good novel, fantasy or not, should definitely read these! Great books to read for any age.

Chaos reigns!
I must say how impressed I am with this book and the others. Stanek's "In the Service of Dragons" books have all been as excellent as his "Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches" books. If you like action and adventure in your fantasy, don't hesitate to get this and all of Stanek's others.
In this book, the brilliant writing continues, as does the excellent narration. The lands of ruin mist descend into war and chaos. Old heroes from the ages and new heroes of the kingdoms become increasingly important. Fantastic!
