About this listen

In The Name of the Father is an inspirational novel about faith, family, and the power of forgiveness. In life, our capacity to love and our ability to receive love is learned from those who nurture us. It is cultivated and sometimes destroyed by observing the two people who love us the most.

This story is about a young woman named Joy. As a man of God, husband and father, Lester was supposed to be his daughter's hero, instead he became the man she despised, and Joy could not move on until she forgave him.

"This is a story I had to tell because I know we have difficulties throughout life that shape how we love ourselves and others. It is so important that we stop pretending life is perfect and shed light on painful issues like divorce, infidelity and abuse."

"I hope this family's drama, pain, faith and triumph reminds you that we are all human, and as a result not perfect, but forgiven by God."

"Let's forgive more, love more and share stories that will inspire others to try again."

In The Name of the Father

David Stafford’s voice invites the listener into the story with such clarity, calmness and energy. His proper and soothing tone proves to keep one completely engaged and interested throughout the entire story. David brings the story to life as he demonstrates the personality of each character in such a way that it is very transforming. The listeners are made to feel what the character feels. The selected music used in every situation enhanced and promoted the true mental status of each character. I was reminded of the days during my childhood years watching my grandmother’s facial, body and verbal response to the stories on radio that she enjoyed so well. This is a book that belongs in everyone’s library.

In the Name of the Father

Truly engaging, you are swept away on this journey. A journey of promises, betrayal, struggles and forgiveness. Starting with the mother down thru the family's relationships, good and dysfunctional. I felt everyones pain including the father. The added nuances brings you closer to the descriptive skill of the writer and the vocal professional. Amazing work. A+ Ms Olivia and Mr. Stafford for putting the story in my mind like I was snuggled up on movie night, tissues and all.

Awesome Review

This book was mesmerizing. I did not want to stop listening to it. I fell asleep listening and woke up listening. It is truly a message of hope for those of us who have been hurt and are afraid to go on to something better. All the twists and turns it took had me going through many emotions! It would be a great movie! Thank you and God bless you.

Great narrator!

I really enjoyed the story and found myself rooting for a positive outcome for Angel, Joy and Moses, who'd suffered so much from Lester's bondages and abuse. I even hoped Lester would find true salvation, peace and freedom.

The narrator did an excellent job performing so many different voices, characters and inflections! I hope to hear more from this author and this narrator.
