Some of you may remember this story as Sapphire's Worth. Written in 2004, a few brief excerpts were posted on my website, and they were never forgotten - I've been receiving email about Sapphire and Wulf ever since!

In the Flesh was my second completed novel, and although I have written many more since then, this Arabian Nights tale of seduction, power, and ultimate surrender holds a special place in my heart. Wulfric remains one of my favorite heroes. I hope he'll become one of yours as well!

interesting

This book is interesting and pretty good. The only reason I gave it five stars as I wish the plot was more developed. It's not a deal breaker and worth the credit.

Explodes in passion and Sci-fi adventure

Sylvia Day is the author of many books I have read or listened to. I first started listening to her historical fiction books. Then she branched out and is the author of many great series books.
This Sci-fi book is excellent. It's steamy and there is plenty battle action. It's similar to Star Trek but not a copy cat book. I would not have liked that at all. The characters are likable and hateful depending on where you are in the book.
The narrator did an incredible job. He had to be the voices of men, women, and robots. I hope to hear him again.

A Good Romantic Fantasy

A good listen and worth the time. "Dick" and "Pussy" were a bit overused. But the storyline was good. I would recommend it, everyone. Audible Escapes allows you to explore outside your traditional love story, so if you have it, you should explore.

My Musings

The narrator is very good but the story had too much sex without enough emotion intertwined. I realize some may enjoy one sexual scene after another but I like more substance. Happy reading/listening!

Loved the story but I felt like it ended abruptly. Like a sequel is needed.

A 'STAR WARS' TYPE ENJOYABLE EROTIC ROMANCE

Firstly, I must say that I'm a total Sylvia Day fan ANYTHING written by her is an auto download for me so perhaps my review may just be a wee bit biased.

Two realms at war on a distant planet - Sari and D'Ashier
Sapphire (aka Katie) is a strong and very capable woman trained in the art of combat as well as the sensual arts who's been the King of Sari's love and only favored concubine for 5 years but the Queen hates her and has had enough so she pensions her off and sends her to her own house with lots of handsome concubines of her own but the Queen has a dark hidden agenda.

One of the concubines is recently captured and tortured Prince Wulfric of D'Ashier a swoon-worthy handsome Alpha warrior who's sexy, arrogant, ruthless, intelligent, fearless and honourable and there's instant attraction with sizzling sexual chemistry as soon as they set eyes on each other. They quickly become obsessed with each other but it's a forbidden and dangerous game to play - they, and their families, are on opposite sides of the war but nothing can stop them from becoming lovers for just one night (yeah right like that's going to work out).

Each Chapter of this well written, entertaining, fast-paced, action-packed, erotic fantasy/romance is unpredictable and has got suspense, surprises, betrayal, humor, sex, lies, battles, lavish worldbuilding scenes, interesting characters and is emotionally gripping. As the lovers try to do the right thing and make the ultimate sacrifice they realise they just can't live without one-another and that leads to an intense love story.

Worth a credit? Ohhhh YES and although there is a HEA ending there are loose ends and this was meant to be the first book in a trilogy but I have been on SD's website and there's no mention of books 2 & 3 yet - so come on Ms Day please please please put me out of my misery and write the other 2.

Firefly, but naughty

Picture companion Inara with River’s fighting skills and you’ve got Katie, famed consort to the king. Combine Mal’s military prowess with Simon’s aristocratic family and you got Prince Wulfric. Listen as these two alphas turn the tables on each other and combust in a sci-if world with healing chambers and spaceships, and also swords and swashbuckling.

There are 8 aggressively naughty scenes in this 8.5 hour book and enough story to be termed sci-fi romance. Still, you should pass on this unless you enjoy “who’s the better alpha” dirty-flirty play. This was a rollicking, pulpy good time.
