About this listen

A year ago, Aimee Spencer's world imploded, and she has been running ever since. She doesn't want to feel. She doesn't want to remember. To bury the ghosts that haunt her, she is living a life that has become unrecognizable.

Cole Everly has grown accustomed to girls throwing themselves at his feet, but when Aimee trips and literally lands in his lap one afternoon, she's not at all what he expects - difficult, damaged, and closed-off. If Cole needed to make a list of qualities to avoid in a girl, Aimee would probably match up with every single one of them. He knows that he should stay away, but he's drawn to her in a way that he can't exactly explain.

In this honest and absorbing story, Aimee and Cole struggle to sort out the thin spaces between loss and love. Ultimately, they will need to learn how to navigate through the pieces of the past if they want to hold on to the future and each other.

Absolutely loved it!

This is probably the best book I've read in three years. The characters are very well developed and you truly get invested in them. I strongly recommend it and I also think it would make a great movie. I've never read anything by this author before but I'm definitely going on a search for more of her books now. Autumn, if you're reading this; FANTASTIC JOB!

I regret getting this

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, I would not recommend this one. I feel foolish for buying the Kindle version and the Whispersync version.

I love how these two met. I love New Adult college stories, but after about 25%, I did not care for either characters. These two characters should not be together. Both are so insecure. Maybe it was the narration and tone of the readers. I do not know since I see the raving reviews, but I feel like I am missing something. Who picks the narrators? The author or the publishing company? I am sorry. I do not want to be mean. I just feel that this could have been so good.

What could Autumn Doughton have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I wished she would have moved the story along. I got so bored with how slowly things were moving. Aimee Spencer after awhile got on my nerves. By the time we heard exactly what happened in that car accident, I did not care. I was done. Both of these characters were so insecure. 75% along and they were still questioning everything. I love the whole man-whore meets the girl with the tragic past on the first day of college, but there was nothing that connected me to these characters. I was bored and honestly only finished because I paid for both the Kindle and Whispersync.

Mild Spoiler Below:

And the hero is very insecure because of his own home issues but what he did when he was feeling mildly insecure for a day with Aimee...what will happen in a year or two when he is feeling insecure again??? Will he repeat his bad behavior?
