Great story
Even better than the first installment , this story concerns the abduction of Eliza, her escape and the steps they take to elude their captors. This has more adventure and less soul searching than the first installment and is entertaining. Could be a stand alone as well

Good, could've been better!!!
I am a huge fan of Stephanie Laurens and I absolutely love the Cynster family and stories. I certainly was expecting this trilogy to be better especially the second book, I am so disappointed! I honestly hope that the third book is better than this one and they get an idea about the Laird and what he is after. Honestly, I am surprised they have no idea who he is or it is made so easy to kidnap the girls. Overall however, the books were a good listen.

Filler for book three
Too much of the same. 2 kidnappings was very redundant with high tailing it to Scotland
The story was a little more action packed than the first which was nice but the bond between the characters was a bit flat. These were both overkill to set up the third book, not sure why we had such similar story lines but u now expect a lot in the next one. The narrator has great male voices but the females r a little baby sounding. It makes the story telling a little annoying when the main characters are interacting Could have been shorter.
Overall a decent listen.

Finally!
I’ll start by saying, yes this book is almost identical in plot to the book before it. But if you are only going to read one, skip the one before and read this one! Unlike almost every other Cynster book, you have a hero who thinks it is stupid not to tell a woman he loves her AND you have a heroine who doesn’t play games or speak in riddles.
It was so refreshing to finally get to another Cynster book where the hero isn’t afraid of his emotions and can identify them! And to have a sensible heroine! There’s absolutely no “I’ll make her want to marry me by giving her good sex” crazy reasoning here.
I easily put this in the top 3 Cynster novels simply because the hero and the heroine are not thinking/doing the same things as almost very other hero and heroine in this series.
I can’t give this five stars because so much of the kidnapping plot is similar to the previous book. But, thankfully, this one focused on getting away from the kidnappers and not “what are my feelings?”/“she has to marry me and I will convince her with my body so I don’t have to say I love her or even hint that I might”/“I will only marry for love and you can’t make me” tired plots.
I hold out hope that this means the author has FINALLY realized she’s been writing the same hero:heroine and plot book after book. Maybe the next book will stray from that pattern too! One can hope!

Better than the first in the Series!!!!
Where does In Pursuit of Eliza Cynster rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I guess this book would rank right in the middle of all of the books I've listened too. It's not the best, but it's by far not the worst either.
What other book might you compare In Pursuit of Eliza Cynster to and why?
Most all of the books by Stephanie Laurens. Most of them are incredibly similar. I don't really compare Ms. Laurens with other Historical romance writers because all of her characters are almost identical and although some of her stories are unique she really never strays from her character traits.
Any additional comments?
I liked this second book in the Cynster Sisters Trilogy much better than the first book in the series. There was more action and the characters were able to admit their love without chapter after chapter of seeing who will or won't declare his/her love first.
I really enjoyed this second book in the series and I'm looking forward to the third book. I'm glad I didn't skip this book as I started too based on the other comments here and on other sites. I recommend this book and think that it brings more to the story than the first in the series.

The quieter ones can have adventures too
Date: 1829 April
Chronology: set after Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue; before The Capture of the Earl of Glencrae
Heather Cynster is the younger sister of Gabriel aka Rupert Cynster who married Alathea Morwellan in April 1820, and Lucifer aka Alasdair Cynster who married Phyllida Tallent in June 1820. Read Gabriel’s story in A Secret Love, and Lucifer’s story in All About Love. Her older sister Heather is engaged to Timothy Danvers. You can read their story in Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue.
Jeremy Carling is the brother of Leonora Carling who married Tristan Wemyss, Earl of Trentham in Feb 1816 from The Bastion Club novel The Lady Chosen.
Jeremy Carling is returning from Wolverstone when he sees Eliza in a passing carriage begging for help. This bookworm then channels his Bastion Club brother-in-law to rescue her.
Brenher does an ok job of narration.

very interesting and enjoyable story, clear presentation, draws a picture and entertains - the strong characters, a villan with whom one can empathise, a secondary villan who's vileness is reprehensible... thanks

Use your credit and enjoy, the Jeremy the shcolar and the Eliza the quiet Cynster make a great love story, growing into their own and living the present.
What about Matthew Brenher???s performance did you like?
Matthew Brenher kept the voices and pace perfectly in accordance to the different characters, including Royce, Devil and Tristan. It is the best performance yet.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened to this book in two days; it was a great escape and brought me back to value the present.
