About this listen

Available in audio first, a magnificent new stand-alone romance from New York Times best-selling author Corinne Michaels!

My life was perfect - until a shocking tragedy pulled the rug out from underneath me.

My children were left without a father. I was without a husband and a provider. Instead of wallowing in my grief, I buried myself in my work at Dovetail Enterprises. Landing the promotion as the CEO’s right hand was exactly what I needed.

Getting saddled with Milo Huxley as an assistant is exactly the opposite.

I can’t stand him.

He’s arrogant, irresponsible, and out for my job. As if that’s not bad enough, he has to be devastatingly sexy, and have a posh English accent that makes me squirm on top of it all. I’ve had enough unpredictability for one lifetime, thank you.

But soon enough, we’re fighting less and laughing more. He’s there for me when no one else is. And those good looks aren’t the only panty-dropping thing about him.

If I only knew what to do about it....

This was great!..except one thing

I’ve listened to romantic, sexually based novels before and ‘If I Only Knew’ is probably one of the best..except one thing that always drives me crazy with chapters that are shared. In this case ‘Nicole’ who has a horrible tragedy with 2 children and enter ‘Myloe’ British, sexy and the brother of her boss.

Mind you it’s a great story and I definitely did not stop listening even when the sun came up. The sex scenes for me were outstanding, and this book was basically timid to most of Audibles sexy romantic..wow..I can’t even think about the ones I’d be REALLY blushing about! Anyway, the author Corinne Micheals not only had great sex scenes but truly excellent dialogue! Some of it could only be written by a mother, wife, lover & one with a true sense of humor, that’s why it was great!

Okay the only little bit that drives me nuts with combined narration is this. ‘Nicole’ had the majority of the chapters by Sophie Eastlake, brilliant, and then comes in the beautiful, sexual, British, voice of ‘Myloe’ by Shane East. Let’s face it..in reality Sophie could do every single voice depiction and there was nothing taken away from the story but in comes Shane’s voice..he could obviously depict himself and his brother but that was it. Yes I’m being picky because when he tried to sound like an American woman he just couldn’t and when you have this highly sexually based story, you need to keep that same narration going. Do I make sense? I just wish when there are books with 2 narrators why not use them in each chapter? Why do we have to hear two different voices for the same person. It’s always been a pet peeve of mine..but I guess that’s why I’m not in charge of audiobooks😊

That was my “one little thing” and I doubt it will change 🤷‍♀️..but definitely so romantic, so much heat too ❤️❤️

Love this Passionate, Romantic, Emotional Romance!

This! This beautiful love story is pure perfection and exactly why I love to read/listen to audio! It was so passionate, romantic, emotional and raw. I wanting to find out more about Danielle since her heartbreaking loss in Ms. Michaels book, Not Until You, and it did not disappoint! We also meet Milo again and he is so sweet, sarcastic, and deliciously sexy! He is an unapologetic playboy but was blindsided by the strong, smart, sexy woman. Underneath, Danielle is struggling to survive as a single working parent after the sudden loss of her husband. She and Milo are broken in similar ways, that draw them to each other. I really cared for them both, and loved how their relationship unfolded and grew. This emotional story is loaded with sexual tension, smoking hot passion, and witty banter. Ms Michaels created a beautifully multifaceted story about real people who are interesting, fun, and easy to connect with.
Narrators Sophie Eastlake, and Shane East gave a flawless performance with exquisite accents, and perfect timing and delivery. Eastlake expertly brought out all the turmoil in Danielle's life. I love how she made me experience all Danielle's excitement, concern, pain and passion. I was totally lost to East's smooth, rich, voice, and he had me totally swooning as he brought the conflicted but sexy Brit to life, helping to make Milo one of my very favorite heroes.
This book is the perfect combination of everything I crave in a story. It’s sweet, witty, romantic, poignant, and steamy passion, all rolled into one breathtaking and amazing audio experience!

Emotional, heart-warming and touching story!

Corinne Michaels tortured us in the best way possible with If I Only Knew. This was a sexy, fun and emotional slow burn office romance that was a second chance at love and I loved every second of it! It is currently only available on audible, but not to worry, it will be coming soon in eBook!

I cannot begin to tell you how my heart broke for Danielle. I cannot even begin to imagine being in her shoes, but her children were her first priority and for them, she needed to move forward. After losing her husband tragically, she was struggling as a parent and mom, let alone just being a woman. But she was so freaking strong, even when she did not see it.

On the other hand, Milo Huxley was a man used to doing as he pleases, when he pleases. To the outside world, there may not be much to the man, but as readers, we get to see a completely different side of him. He was a complex man who hid behind an easy manner. But he was a good man with a huge heart. He may have only returned to teach his brother a lesson, but Danielle and her children changed everything.

I want to tell you everything, but this is really a story that just needs to be experience. What I can tell you is this story was emotional and heartwarming. I loved every moment of this audiobook. Sophie Eastlake and Shane East were absolutely amazing. Both narrators did an amazing job brining Milo and Danielle to life. I cannot recommend this enough! A must-read!

Loved it! Happy listening!

It was believable and enjoying. Sexy as well. Great narration I would have like to have had a little more interaction with the kids.

4 Love Was the Last Thing She Was Looking For

I'm a huge fan of Ms. Michaels and this series so when this book because available on audible before it was published I ran to add it to my library! Milo and Danielle were two people that are at complete opposite places in their lives. She's a woman with two children and her life is ripped apart in a blink of an eye. Milo is a man that's never really taken his responsibilities seriously and so begins their story when Milo becomes Danielle's assistant!

Because I was listening to the book the narrators were key to me feeling every nuance of their story. Ms. Eastlake and Mr. East embodied the characters very well. I loved their back and forth zingers because you know he's British and she's a woman that's not in the mood to take his crap!!! But that doesn't stop Milo from testing her patience...until one day everything changes and we see a different side of this handsome and sexy man.

He sees Danielle for who she is, a woman that puts on the façade of being a strong independent woman but inside she's struggling to maintain everything around her. And god bless Milo he steps up when it matters most. Let's also not forget the circle of women that surround Danielle, and they'll do anything for their girl. But she really needs Milo's strength and his charm and charisma...one thing they can't deny is the physical pull they have. This was so well played out by the narrators. They definitely brought the heat to the book and had me squirming in my seat a few times!

Listening to our H/h find their way to love when they least expected it or thought they deserved it was a joyful experience. I felt every emotion, all the swoonworthy moments and their palpable chemistry. Ms. Michaels has written a spectacular book and the narrators brought each and every word to life!!

Love happens when least expected!!

Absolutely loved Milo and Dani's story. It shows not only how love can creep up and bite you on the butt, but how if it's true then change is good.

I love these girls!!

I love the bond that Heather, Kristin, Nicole, & Danielle have. They are there for each other through all of the wins & of course, all of the losses. Sometimes, you do get to pick your family & these girls are definitely family. Danielle’s story starts off so sad, but of course she finds her HEA in the end. Milo Huxley is your typical Peter Pan, bachelor playboy, that is until he meets his match with his boss, Danielle. Their story is fun & playful, & intense at times. Milo & Danielle’s story makes you fall more in love with Nicole & Callum also. I’m sad that this wraps up these girls’ stories, but I have enjoyed the ride.

Heartwarming story, loved that it featured a middle-aged couple

I enjoyed this book….an enemies-to-lovers tale that is heartbreaking, heartwarming, romantic, and steamy, with some truly humorous moments thrown in. The only real down side for me was Sophie Eastlake’s portrayal of male voices. It was pretty awful. Instead of sounding like attractive, charismatic, 40’ish Brits, she made them sound like haughty 75-year-old Parliament members. My performance rating of only three stars was entirely due to that. Her female voices are fine, and Shane East’s narration was really good, as usual. Those male voices of Sophie’s were just too distracting. It would have been a 5-star narration otherwise.
