I Remember You, Icelandic author Yrsa Sigurdardottir will stun listeners once again with this out-of-this-world ghost story that will leave you shivering.

In an isolated village in the Icelandic Westfjords, three friends set to work renovating a rundown house. But soon, they realize they are not as alone as they thought. Something wants them to leave, and it's making its presence felt. Meanwhile, in a town across the fjord, a young doctor investigating the suicide of an elderly woman discovers that she was obsessed with his vanished son. When the two stories collide, the terrifying truth is uncovered.

Critic reviews

“A multilayered tale that builds slowly--the use of smells is especially effective--but drives to a shattering climax that honors the traditions of both detective fiction and ghost stories.” —Kirkus Reviews

“A chiller-thriller of immense scariness.” —The Times (UK)

“Genuinely bone chilling, and proves that as well as being the Queen of Icelandic crime fiction, Sigurdardóttir is a generator of fear quite as adroit as such writers as Stephen King.” —The Independent (UK)

The edge of my seat

This book had everything! Mystery, ghosts, crime, adventure, love and loss.

Great Suspense!

This book had a wonderful tightly wound plot.
The language was concise and evoked images of both terror and mystery that were believable and spine chilling. I have heard that one out of ten Icelanders is an author of some sort and I will be a very loyal reader of Sigurdardottir if this book is even remotely like the rest!

Chilling

A twisted maze of interconnected phenomena amongst a stark Icelandic landscape had me hooked until the end.

Slow build with a great payoff

This is definitely not one for folds who love a lot of action and gore, but this is a truly spooky book. Loved the atmosphere set by the author & when everything comes together at the end…holy s$!/!

Outstanding ghost story!

This book managed to be atmospheric, erie, creepy, and scary, which is hard to do well. simultaneously a mystery and a ghost story, it was a slow burn at the start but once you get past the first couple of chapters it will be hard to put down. WAlso well written with outstanding narration.

Fascinating Connectedness

The narration is impeccable. The story is so well constructed and the authors never lies to the reader for a cheap twist. Amazing story.

loved it!

A ghost story with a bonus mystery or is that the other way around. I'm off to watch the movie now.

Interesting Twist, Predictable?

What I loved about this book was experiencing Iceland and places I can now put on my bucket list, which i would not have know about had it not been for this book. Like who would know about these far out places unless you read books.

The story was interesting, and a few things I did not see coming. However the big twist I saw coming, I am not sure how. The rest was just pleasure knowing how things would end and the non-closure, closure. I def recommend this book just because it expands your mind if you have never thought of exploring Iceland, and very secluded places of the earth where not too many humans go, and not to many securities as in infrastructure are established.
