A Sunday Times bestseller

Packed with hard-won wisdoms and gentle revelations, this is Miranda's honest exploration of the lessons that have helped her.

Hello to you, I am with news. I have a new book: I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You. I know – what an intriguing title!

Basically, I have had an unexpectedly difficult decade – there have been surprising joys but also deep revelations and challenging lows. I shall be honest about those, because what I discovered in the difficult times were my, what I call, treasures. Treasures – practical tools, values, ways, answers researched from some great scientists, neuroscientists, therapists, sociologists (all the ‘ists’) out there – that have genuinely led to a sense of freedom, joy, peace and physical recovery I never would have thought possible. Life now, amazingly, with what I will share is – SUCH FUN! (Always important to quote your own catch phrases…)

If you fancy having a read, then I hope my story might help your story. After all, we are in this beautiful, mysterious, challenging life together. Rest assured there are funny stories along the way – we will have a laugh too, my dear reader chum. Oh, and I couldn’t possibly say if there is a love story in it . . . (There is – shush.) Exciting!

'A bombshell, moving, inspirational. Hart passes on the tips that helped her emerge from psychological as much as physical doldrums. No comedian, female or male, has been so taken to the nation’s bosom since Victoria Wood' Independent

'A raw and poignant account. Miranda is more of an everywoman than ever before' The Times

'Miranda's account of slowly letting her guard down and being vulnerable is sweet and moving, and proof that happiness is possible even in the most trying times' Guardian

Editorial Review

Finding freedom, joy, peace, and fun with Miranda Hart
It was a few years ago that I binge-watched several seasons of the long-running British TV series Call the Midwife, and Camilla “Chummy” Noakes (played my Miranda Hart) quickly became a character who felt like a friend. Hampered by acute shyness, Chummy was nonetheless an adept midwife (if I were to have a baby in a London tenement, I’d want her by my side). Similarly, I welcome the sage advice offered by Hart in this revealing, informative, and very funny memoir. It’s prescriptive in the most useful of ways. She shares the “treasures” she’s collected—practical tools learned from scientists, neuroscientists, therapists, and sociologists that have helped her to heal physically and emotionally. She’s done the work and is here to help us, her fans, navigate our own journeys to health. — Tricia F., Audible Editor

Well, thanks a lot, Miranda…

Thanks to you I alternately giggled and blubbered my way around the neighborhood this past week on my daily walks. Though come to think of it, the neighbors who know me probably never gave this behavior a second thought.

Thank you for sharing this very personal story, in your uniquely Mirandaesque way. And congrats. ;-)

Miranda is Beautiful

There are so many things to love and enjoy about this deeply reflective and compassionately honest memoir, not the least of which is the narration provided by Miranda herself. Anyone who has ever felt alone, misunderstood, or limited by circumstances beyond their control can find kinship in Miranda's story of chronic illness and personal journey of insight.

Long term illness begone. Welcome peaceful joy!

I loved all the treasures. It put voice to things I was already doing and gave me ideas on what to add to my life in a positive and fun way. Here's to finding joy in the little things even while experiencing the ups and downs of a tough long term illness.

Lovely book

Miranda Hart finds humor in every situaltion, including havung chronic illness. She doesn't 'read' her book, she tells her story and connects with the listener on every page, calling us My Dear Listener Chum. I learned a lot from this book and laughed many times.

Never thought I could love a nonfiction book this much

I have never been the type to go in for self help books at all but this is so so much more than that. It truly feels as if a friend turned back to find you on your long dark rough path to tell you “I found the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s rough going ahead but don’t worry, I know the way now. Hold my head I’ll show you how to navigate your way through” I have always loved Miranda heart but I didn’t expect to have my mind completely blown and my life set on a new path by listening to her book. I wish I could give her a big hug and thank her for writing this treasure. Thanks for listening my dear MDLC.

She's just great and the book is brilliant. Highly worth a listen for so many reasons.

Loved it. She's hilarious while being honest about what she's struggled with, the darkness of chronic illness and while also imparting such great information. Highly recommend. My only wish would be the editing was better in some parts. Was evident some parts had been recorded after the book was originally done and added in. That's my only negative but she makes it all worth any slight tech letdowns.

I loved it

The research put into this book is outstanding. I love Miranda Hart but to be able to use some of her stories and research in my own therapy and to not feel so alone with my chronic illnesses was so helpful.
