Henry Rearden of the seas

A very enjoyable story with a strong protagonist. The story gets a little preachy about saving the oceans but it is well mingled with the narrative and characters. As others have pointed out the narrator in the Audible version wasn't the best for this type story, but is tolerable. If I had a real complaint its the lack of chapters in the Audible version. There is no break from the end of one chapter from the other, luckily I had read this on kindle long ago so I kind of knew what was going on, I can imagine first time listeners not realizing when one scene ended and getting confused at what seems like weird time skips and character teleportation.

Great narrator adding to a brilliant captivating story line. Well done to both Wilbur Smith and Ric Jerrom.

A well developed story

This is a book that draws you in and keeps you wanting more. Well written and well read.

What a Writer!

If you haven’t read Wilbur Smith YOU NEED TO! I am so sad because I have now finished all of his series along with all but one of his novels. I’m saving that for an up coming road trip with my husband.
Mr. Smiths writing style is so very extraordinary, vivid, alive, I feel like I am a character in one of his stories his novels are so easy to melt into. I feel as though I can, smell the air, taste the salt of the sea, feel the stinging heat of the desert, touch the minerals and rocks, hike through the jungles, go on Safari, feel the splashing rain, smell the mineral iron smell of blood, ride a horse....I JUST DO NOT KNOW HOW TO EXPRESS HOW FABULOUS THESE NOVELS & SERIES ARE!

not Wilbur Smith's best

I was a bit disappointed, way too much wasted time on what I suppose was "passionate love" nonsense and the female characters both seemed very unlikable and artificial stereotypical, histrionic and just wrong.

Fun book

Although not part of series I wish it was. the book is relationship and action packed with a tongue of science fiction.... carried to extremes....

His over emphasis of words and phraseology, makes it seem that he is a Harlequin novel.

good story but narration was arduous strenuous

the story was good but I didn't like the narrator I would not listen to another story by the same narrator.
