About this listen

Humble Calvinism is both a helpful summary of what Calvinism is and a helpful challenge to those who are convinced Calvinists. It calls us to hold Calvinism in our hearts, not just in our heads, so that we are humble and gracious, as well as zealous for the truth, to the praise and glory of Christ and his church.

Author Jeff Medders admits that he is quick to defend Calvinism, but often slow to humbly love Christians who take a different view. His warm-hearted, challenging (and surprisingly witty) book takes listeners through the the five points of Calvinism, revealing that a true understanding has a humbling effect on our hearts, fueling a love of Christ and his people that builds others up, rather than tearing them down.

Very helpful

It was very helpful. I enjoyed this read. I will probably listen to this again and share it with friends and family.

I didn’t like some mispronunciations by the reader such as RC Sproul and Ligonier, and one or two other names. I wonder why that was but I can overlook that.

Christ above Calvin

How important it is to live a life centered in Love for Christ and others and to understand the doctrines of Grace in the light of the scriptures, changing our minds, hearts and lives with the Holy Spirit to live according to our mission. Great book for us proud calvinists and anyone struggling with putting Christ above all doctrine.

Needed to be written!

I just love this book. What brave subject to tackle, and the author reframes this beautiful teaching in its much more natural flattering light. I find that there are nasty Calvinists but moreover there is too much bickering over it. Properly framed it is God centered, humble and freeing.

great book but a strange narration choice

The content of the book was fantastic. However the narrator's robotic voice took away from the richness of what was being said. As well as the narrator mispronounced some basic names in Christian theology.

Despite its narration fflaws I would still highly recommend it.For anyone who wants to understand Calvinism as it should be correctly taught.

What a Surprise

I have witnessed so much division in church and family over “Calvinism.” Over the years I struggled to see where Calvinism departed from Biblical Christianity. This author makes a clear concise points and I found it very helpful.
