Excellemt Resource for Public Speaker

After Cathey was brought in to coach our team on the art of stage presence I bought her book as an adiitional resource. It's jam packed with great advice on all the step you need to consider leading up to a TED Talk (or ANY talk). Truely invaluable information!

Average guide / reference

There were a few things from this book that I found interesting & helpful, but overall it was average at best. Not sure that I would recommend it to a friend. Im sure it’s better than many other titles, so depending on the circumstances it may be worth a consideration.

Great for Anyone Delivering Any Presentation

Whether you are delivering a Ted Talk, a seminar or workshop, what ever you are presenting the framework provided here is variable, useful and definitely applicable. I enjoyed the whole audiobook and the bonuses are definitely a value-add!

Awesome.

I have read other books along the same subject matter. They are all GREAT, but this one certainly stands out. The reasons are... It gives a simple formula for your talk to be successful. If you put in the work, and follow the steps you too will be able to entertain and capture your audience.

Amazing program

I’ve heard and read for same subject for different resources, but this one is the remarkable, easy to understand, practical to follow.
Thank you Cathey, for this great work.

an excellent framework and strategy for preparing

Though at the end she got a little bit new agey for me by and large this is an excellent book and make some really important points about how to prepare and deliver a talk like this I would recommend this book to anybody who aspires like myself to one day do a TED talk.

but most important you're going to have to take action on all the steps she says in the way she says to really get the benefit.

waste of time

This is the most ego driven dribble. it was a free offering by Audible and it was not worth my time. One example is how she was asked to talk the next day but later in order to give a talk you will need to prepare for at least 3 months. There are other examples but I have a life.

False Advertising

This book is all about TED and TED talks.. It is not a “guide to prepare and deliver powerful presentations”. There is no reason for someone to listen to it unless you want to give a TED talk.

Title is very misleading... Don't waist your time.

This book has absolutely nothing to do with presenting powerful presentations. The only subject the author talks about is how to give a TED talk. The steps involved, preparation, how to get asked to give one, and so on. There is nothing in this book that even closely resembles giving powerful presentations outside of a TED setting. For anyone interested in a book about giving presentations, this is not the book for you. The title is extremely misleading. There are much better books out there that actually cover this topic. To make matters worse, the audio is far from great. Sometimes it's not bad and sometimes it sounds like she is reading the book from the other side of the room. I am really glad I didn't have to pay for this book because I would have been very upset. Complete waist of time for anyone not planning on giving a TED talk and for those that would like to give a TED talk, there are much better books and articles about that as well.
