HOW TO BE A VIKING by CRESSIDA COWELL

Just finished reading the kid’s book HOW TO BE A VIKING by CRESSIDA COWELL. I read this book while listening to the audible version narrated by the author, CRESSIDA COWELL. Vikings are brave. But Hiccup isn't like other Vikings. He's afraid of everything... including the sea. When Hiccup heads off for his very first ocean voyage, his seasickness is the least of his worries! The Vikings are lost in a terrible storm, and it's up to Hiccup to help them find their way home again.
Featuring the beloved main character from the celebrated How to Train Your Dragon series, here's an exciting adventure that shows what it really means to be brave. These are the cutest books. This was actually the first book that started the phenomenal series of 12 books titled HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON. There have also been 3 movies and a television show. These books are beautifully illustrated and I love them and the movies as well. The little viking called Hiccup is such a sweet but brave character who is always trying to impress his father.

Before Hiccup meets Toothless.

Warning this story is less than ten minutes long, with a preview of How to Train your Dragon for the remaining time. While this story is cute, I think this should have just been added to the end of the first book. I'm glad I waited for the semi annual sale to get it. I did not like the echo that came when Stoic talked, portraying how big he was, good thing the other books aren't like that. Read by the Author who is okay but is no David Tennatt (whom I love.) Although the preview of How to Train your Dragon is narrated by David Tennatt.

Cute, but REALLY short

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, but with the caveat that it is actually less than 10 minutes long. The remainder is a preview of How to Train Your Dragon. While the preview is fantastic, we'd already listened to that whole book.

What about Cressida Cowell’s performance did you like?

Not nearly as good as David Tennant (who narrates the rest of the series, including the preview at the end of the book), but she does ok.

Any additional comments?

Cute -- but very short -- story with a good message for kids.
