About this listen

The honeymoon is over, now the murders can begin. America's #1 thriller writer returns with his sexiest, scariest novel ever. Hotter than The Beach House and scarier than Kiss the Girls, James Patterson's explosive new thriller introduces a bride who is beautiful, talented, devoted, and deadly.

When a young investment banker dies of baffling causes, FBI agent John O'Hara immediately suspects the only witness, the banker's alluring and mysterious fiance. Nora Sinclair is a beautiful decorator who expects the best, and will do anything to get it. Agent O'Hara keeps closing in, but the stronger his case, the less he knows whether he's pursuing justice or his own fatal obsession. In a novel so compelling it reads like a collaboration with Alfred Hitchcock, James Patterson unveils surprise after surprise that will keep readers guessing until the last deadly kiss.

Critic reviews

"This is one canny thriller." (Publishers Weekly)
"The authors' use of plot twists and red herrings continues to the end of the story, and that, combined with Campbell and Davis's skill, keeps listeners on edge until the last word." (AudioFile)

A different type of Patterson read for me. If anything can be unique today with thousands of writers out there, this would be in that category. The book had its share of murder, of course, but NOT multiple slayings with the object to be as grisly as possible. Entertaining. Great performance by Davis and Scott.

The readers could have been more believable. Their voices were not dynamic enough.

aside from the confusion of Westchester County and Fairfield County and knowing the shops around the area mentioned in the book the authors don't know anything about Graves curiously enough when you open the grave there is a vault not just the casket and the Vault would be raised and then the casket will be taken out the Vault being made of cement would not break and the corpse would not fall out that just doesn't happen in real life for such a well-known author it's very curious that this obvious mistake would be made somehow the research into this area failed other obvious plot glitches I'll leave to others to enumerate but come on 4 4 Patterson these things really ought not to have been we're such an experience author

The perfect suspense/mystery/thriller novel. Brilliantly executed, and audio performances were stellar. I listened to this in my car and would literally find excuses to drive more so I could find out what happens.

Loved, loved, loved this book!

There isn't much to sink your teeth into from this mass-market thriller, but you have to admire the artistry with which Patterson keeps you turning the pages. The story, though trite, is very compelling, and 'the pages turn themselves' as I heard is Patterson's goal with all of his books.

Recommend for anyone who would binge watch law and order or lifetime to forget about their stressful lives. Not recommended for anyone who wants to learn something valuable about crime or life.
